Role Overview

We are seeking a well-rounded legal professional with strong experience in the asset management space to support and manage the legal aspects of our PMS and AIF business operations. The role will focus on drafting, vetting, reviewing, and negotiating a range of legal documents and contracts, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Legal Documentation & Contract Management:
Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of legal agreements, including:
1. Investment Management Agreements
2. Distribution Agreements
3. NDAs, Term Sheets, Service Agreements
4. Vendor and Outsourcing Contracts
- Ensure all contracts and documents are legally sound, compliant, and in line with business objectives.
PMS / AIF / MF Regulatory Support:
- Provide legal advice and support on matters related to SEBI regulations applicable to Portfolio Management Services (PMS), Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs), and Mutual Funds.
- Assist in drafting and reviewing offer documents, private placement memorandums, client onboarding documents, and investor communications.
Risk Management & Legal Advisory:
- Proactively identify legal risks and provide mitigation strategies.
- Stay abreast of regulatory changes and their impact on the business.
- Work closely with compliance and operations teams to ensure legal alignment in all processes.
Stakeholder Management:
- Collaborate with internal teams including Investment, Compliance, Sales, and Operations to provide timely legal inputs.
- Liaise with external legal counsel when necessary.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB); LLM is an added advantage.
- 5-7 years of relevant legal experience in PMS, AIF, PE, or Mutual Fund industry.
- Strong experience in drafting, vetting, and negotiating legal and commercial documents.
- In-depth knowledge of SEBI regulations applicable to PMS, AIFs, and mutual funds.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
