Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Execute and deliver large and complex projects end-to-end, independently or with a team.
- Ensure timely delivery of all product deliverables.
- Lead technical discussions and serve as the go-to person for guidance and troubleshooting.
- Monitor key business and engineering metrics related to performance, quality, and availability, working continuously to improve them.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, encouraging team members to engage in architecture and design discussions.
- Establish and enforce best practices for code quality, conventions, and standards.
- Groom and prioritize technical debt effectively.
- Contribute to organization-wide tech initiatives.
- Mentor interns and senior engineers.
- Support hiring initiatives to build a top-quality engineering team.
- Strong and self-motivated, capable of making independent decisions.
- Extensive experience in building web-based products.
- Proven experience leading a small team.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- 6+ years of expertise in at least one dynamic programming language and one MVC web framework (preferably Ruby on Rails).
- Proficiency in database modeling, preferably relational databases, identifying bottlenecks, and writing optimized queries.
- Expertise in common AWS cloud technologies.
- Knowledge of CI/CD tools and workflows.
- Proven track record in building highly available and scalable distributed systems.
- Strong focus on coding best practices, code coverage, and stakeholder management.
- Ability to build trust and rapport with internal and external stakeholders.

- Understanding of the technical interview process for backend, frontend, and DevOps roles.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and related deployment technologies.
- Familiarity with web application security best practices, including common vulnerabilities such as XSS and SQL injection.
