Job Description
EXO Edge is looking for an experienced US Payroll Tax Specialist who will own the processes to audit and balance all payroll-related tax reporting to ensure compliance with Federal, State, and local tax jurisdictions across the organization’s multiple states.
In your journey at EXO Edge, you will be:
Primarily focused on:
- Serving as a subject matter expert for more complex payroll tax issues and leading the research and resolution of discrepancies and escalations in partnership with outside vendors
- Maintaining a working knowledge of changes in legislation and impacts in taxation and reporting
Fulfilling the below roles and responsibilities:
- Support the bi-weekly payroll processes and off cycles, including new starters and terminations
- Independently balance payroll and tax reporting processes and resolve issues as appropriate
- Partner with ADP on federal, state and local tax, including monitoring and ensuring our SUI rates are correct
- Lead the audit of employee data and processes to correct tax set ups
- Work closely with the accounting team to ensure tax issues brought forward are resolved in a timely manner
- Partner with the HR Systems team to determine appropriate actions when system issues impact taxation or employee records
- Determine appropriate actions when legislative changes occur. Collaborate with third-party administrator (ADP) and jurisdictions when complex issues occur and require more in-depth research to respond to notices of inconsistencies
- Identify and participate in continuous improvement projects to drive efficiencies within payroll including streamlining processes and improving operations
- Safeguard the organization by implementing right processes, governance and controls are in place
- Lead the processing of corrections to wage and tax information based on system audits and applicable tax rules
Bringing in the below experience:
- 4+ years of payroll tax experience
- In depth knowledge of US payroll, tax laws, federal, and multi-state

- Strong technical knowledge of ADP and Workday
Technically sound in:
- Experience of working on payroll applications like ADP, UKG, Xero, etc.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite of applications
- Proficient with Workday and reporting
Based at:
- Open to remote working candidates
