Job Description
Honeywell Building Automation is seeking a Senior Sales Training Specialist to design, deliver, and continuously enhance sales capability programs that accelerate performance across our Building Automation business. This role will be instrumental in equipping sales professionals with the knowledge, skills, and tools required to effectively position Honeywell's solutions, engage customers in value-based conversations, and drive profitable growth.
The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in sales enablement, adult learning, and commercial excellence, coupled with a strong understanding of Building Automation markets, customer buying journeys, and solution-selling methodologies.
About The Role
As a Senior Sales Training Specialist, you will be responsible for developing and delivering impactful learning experiences that strengthen sales effectiveness, improve commercial acumen, and accelerate seller readiness across the organization. You will partner closely with sales leaders, product management, marketing, and subject matter experts to create scalable learning solutions aligned with Honeywell's strategic priorities.
This role combines instructional design, facilitation, coaching, and performance consulting to drive measurable business outcomes and foster a culture of continuous learning.

Key Responsibilities
Sales Training & Enablement
- Design and deliver engaging sales training programs focused on consultative selling, value-based selling, account management, negotiation, and opportunity management.
- Facilitate instructor-led, virtual, and blended learning experiences for sales professionals across varying levels of experience.
- Support onboarding and ramp-up programs for new sales hires, reducing time-to-productivity.
- Partner with sales leaders to identify capability gaps and develop targeted learning interventions.
- Develop comprehensive learning curricula, sales playbooks, toolkits, job aids, and certification programs.
- Create training content covering Building Automation, including Building Management Systems (BMS), Fire, Security, Access Control, Energy Management, and Digital Building technologies.
- Maintain and continuously update learning materials to reflect evolving market trends, competitive dynamics, and product enhancements.
- Leverage modern learning technologies and digital platforms to improve learner engagement and knowledge retention.
- Conduct field observations, role plays, and skills assessments to reinforce learning and drive behavior change.
- Collaborate with sales managers to establish coaching frameworks that improve seller effectiveness and customer engagement.
- Provide targeted coaching on opportunity qualification, customer discovery, value articulation, and strategic account planning.
- Support continuous development initiatives that strengthen sales competencies across the organization.
- Partner with Sales Leadership, Product Marketing, Commercial Excellence, and Regional Teams to align training priorities with business objectives.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure technical accuracy and relevance of learning content.
- Act as a trusted advisor to commercial leaders on sales capability development strategies.
- Evaluate training effectiveness through learner feedback, knowledge assessments, and business performance metrics.
- Monitor key performance indicators including seller productivity, onboarding effectiveness, certification completion, and sales performance improvements.
- Use data-driven insights to refine programs and maximize training impact.
- Provide recommendations to leadership on future capability-building priorities.
YOU MUST HAVE
- Significant experience in sales training, sales enablement, commercial excellence, or sales leadership roles.
- Strong understanding of consultative selling, account management, and customer-centric sales methodologies.
- Experience designing and delivering instructor-led, virtual, and blended learning programs.
- Exceptional facilitation, presentation, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to influence stakeholders and collaborate across a matrixed organization.
- Strong project management and curriculum development capabilities.
- Experience utilizing learning technologies, learning management systems (LMS), and digital enablement tools.
- Experience within Building Automation, Building Technologies, HVAC Controls, Fire, Security, Energy Management, or related industries.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Education, Organizational Development, or a related field.
- Professional certifications in sales training, instructional design, coaching, or learning and development.
- Knowledge of adult learning principles and learning measurement methodologies.
- Ability to translate complex technical topics into engaging and practical learning experiences.
- Passion for talent development, commercial excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Strong analytical mindset with experience using data to measure and improve learning outcomes.
