Job Description

    As a Senior Compliance Officer - Recruitment, your primary responsibility will be to ensure that all recruitment activities within the UK comply with relevant UK employment laws, regulations, industry standards, and internal policies. This includes developing and implementing compliance frameworks, providing expert guidance, conducting audits, and promoting a culture of compliance within the recruitment function. You will also be instrumental in managing relationships with regulatory bodies and ensuring the company's recruitment practices are legally and ethically sound.
    Key Responsibilities:
    - Develop and Implement Recruitment Compliance Frameworks: Design, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and guidelines related to recruitment compliance in the UK, covering areas such as anti-discrimination, right to work checks, GDPR, agency worker regulations, and other relevant legislation.
    - Provide Expert Advice and Guidance: Serve as the subject matter expert on UK recruitment compliance, offering guidance and support to the recruitment team, hiring managers, and other stakeholders on legal requirements.
    - Conduct Compliance Audits and Risk Assessments: Regularly audit recruitment processes to identify compliance risks, ensuring adherence to regulations and internal policies. Develop action plans to address identified risks.
    - Stay Updated on Regulatory Changes: Monitor changes in UK employment law and recruitment regulations, updating policies and procedures accordingly.
    - Develop and Deliver Training Programs: Create and deliver training programs on compliance topics for the recruitment team and hiring managers.
    - Manage Relationships with Regulatory Bodies: Act as a point of contact for UK regulatory bodies on recruitment-related compliance matters.
    - Investigate Compliance Breaches: Investigate reported breaches of recruitment compliance, collaborating with stakeholders to resolve issues and prevent future occurrences.
    - Develop and Maintain Compliance Documentation: Ensure all recruitment-related compliance documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
    - Implement and Monitor Right to Work Checks: Oversee the process for conducting compliant right to work checks for new hires in the UK.
    - Ensure GDPR Compliance in Recruitment: Implement procedures to ensure GDPR compliance in the recruitment process.
    - Support Internal and External Audits: Assist with audits related to recruitment compliance, providing necessary information and documentation.
    - Prepare Compliance Reports: Generate regular reports on recruitment compliance for senior management.
    - Manage Agency Worker Regulations: Ensure compliance with Agency Workers Regulations and related legislation.
    Qualifications and Experience:
    - Bachelor's degree in Law, Human Resources, or a related field. Professional compliance qualification (e.g., CIPD) is preferred.
    - 5+ years of experience in a compliance role, with a focus on recruitment compliance in the UK.
    - Profound knowledge of UK employment law, including the Equality Act, Immigration Act, GDPR, and Agency Workers Regulations.
    - Familiarity with best practices in recruitment and talent acquisition.
    - Experience in developing and implementing compliance policies.
    - Proficiency in conducting compliance audits and risk assessments.
    - Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
    - Effective communication, presentation, and interpersonal abilities.
    - High ethical standards and integrity.
    - Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities efficiently.
    - Proficiency in HRIS and relevant software.
