- Credit Risk Management Loss Forecasting is one of the key functional areas within Retail Risk Management. This function owns the forecasting and provision activities for all Retail for the different Regions within HSBC group across all retail products (secure and unsecure).
- This role applies to the Decision Sciences job family and would encompass Loss Forecasting and Provisioning activities for all RBWM portfolios across Group.
- The role requires the incumbent to work in the Credit Loss Forecasting function for the HNAH RBWM portfolios, reporting into the Head of HNAH Loss Forecasting & Provisioning team at GAC.
What you’ll do:
Projects & Analysis
- The incumbent would be required to support Loss Forecasting & Provisioning activities for the secured and unsecured products across HNAH.
- Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
- Delivering the monthly Loss Forecasting and Provisioning work in a timely and flawless manner
- Support the activities related to submission of Provision/Forecast inputs to the Group/Regional team
- Independently delivery on simple projects and should be able to resolve queries associated with the project
- Pro-actively support the implementation of process improvement initiatives
- Help in the smooth induction of new recruits in the team
- Ensure adherence with all the applicable compliance policies (Data security policy, AML, operational risk, Functional manual, Group Compliance Manual, Audit recommendations, Internal Control requirements, Regulatory guidelines etc.) and business standards as applicable to the role. Take timely action on Audit findings and should be able to demonstrate compliance with Internal controls
Service Delivery
- Develop an understanding of the Loss Forecasting and Provisioning processes, including IFRS9. Should be able to understand the relationship between Provisions and the changes in the macro-economic environment, strategy, policies etc.
- Ensure adequate process and methodology documentation, to facilitate knowledge transition
- Provide guidance to the new members in the team
- Drive innovation and process standardization
Operational Effectiveness & Teamwork
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with the Regional colleagues

Requirements
What you will need to succeed in the role:
- Bachelor’s degree in mathematics/ statistics/ economics or equivalent experience; Master’s degree preferred
- 1-2+ years of relevant analytics experience in statistical analysis or equivalent
- Prior Risk management experience in Retail portfolios such as Mortgage, Cards, Loans will be an added advantage
- Good theoretical and practical knowledge of tools [SAS, MS Office, VBA etc] & statistics
- Prior experience with retail banking analytics would be desirable
- Prior experience with retail banking analytics would be desirable
