Job description
Our purpose – Opening up a world of opportunity – explains why we exist. Here at HSBC we use our unique expertise, capabilities, breadth and perspectives to open up new kinds of opportunity for our more than 40 million customers. We’re bringing together the people, ideas and capital that nurture progress and growth, helping to create a better world – for our customers, our people, our investors, our communities and the planet we all share.
CIB’s ambition is to be the #1 Corporate & Institutional Bank in the world. To achieve this we need to become a data-powered organisation that uses factual insight to drive client and shareholder excellence. Our complexity of clients, products and geographies is our opportunity by using data to simplify what we do and how we work, enabling CIB’s mission. The combination of our legacy GBM & CMB organisations creates a further imperative for data excellence as our span of clients has increased and management’s understanding of all components of the business has some fragmentation. Data must inform enterprise level thinking down to granular client level wallet mapping to frame how we identify opportunities and create accountability for performance.
CIB’s unique reach across the world from institutions to mid-market corporates means that classical external data sets will never, by themselves, be complete or adequate. From client segmentation to wallet sizing and opportunities tracking the scope of business optimisation is extensive. With a longer-term view, the role holder can bring transformational thinking to client data assets which, subject to relevant data privacy considerations, have the potential to become a marketable commodity in themselves.
The role holder will also drive discipline and methodology across CIB. They will remove the ability to create inconsistent definitions and methodology, while democratising access to insight to drive creativity and commercial thinking enterprise wide. There is significant scope for the role-holder to define precise scope and team setup.
Accountabilities for Business, Clients and Stakeholders:
- The sole senior owner of CIB’s client and banking analytics globally. Partnering with the data infrastructure organization that builds and maintains the systems of record
- Build a world-class team of client and banking analytics professionals on a global basis
- Ensure the fair treatment of our customers and maintain having a growth mindset culture at the heart of what we do
- Recruit and develop a top talent pool for CIB CCO and HSBC more widely
- A natural leader who will command the respect of the CIB leadership team and leaders at all levels
- A ‘one-team’ style that is always focused on bringing people together to drive outcomes and organisational change
For this role, HSBC targets a pay range between $350,000.00 and $400,000.00
The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.
At HSBC, our overall goal is to provide a competitive Total Reward Package, with an appropriate mix of fixed pay, and variable pay, as part of an employee’s overall total compensation and benefits. Variable pay generally takes the form of discretionary, annual awards (sometimes referred to as a “bonus”). Additionally, HSBC offers a wide range of competitive and flexible benefits designed to help you improve your health and well-being, finances, and lifestyle.
