Team Lead, Sustainable Finance Operations

Job Purpose
The Team Leader, Sustainable Finance Operations at Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) plays a critical leadership role in managing and developing a high-performing team of ESG data professionals based in Hyderabad. This position ensures the delivery of accurate, comprehensive, and timely Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) data to support ICE Climate products and global ESG reporting standards.
The role demands deep expertise in ESG data, regulatory frameworks, and capital markets, combined with strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills. The Team Leader will champion operational excellence by fostering a culture aligned with ICE values, emphasizing high performance, continuous improvement, and innovation.
A key responsibility is leveraging technology to maximise efficiency and data quality. The Team Leader will proactively identify opportunities to implement AI and automation, design smart systems and workflows, and embed best practices in data operations. Collaboration with global teams, strategic project leadership, and commitment to professional development are essential to ensure alignment with organisational goals and evolving industry standards.
Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of 15+ Associates and Analysts, overseeing resource planning, performance management, and professional growth.
• Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery of ESG data by analyzing and validating information from diverse sources.
• Monitor ESG market trends and apply insights to enhance data quality and client deliverables.
• Drive workflow efficiencies and implement process improvements to optimize accuracy and productivity.

• Collaborate with global teams to standardize processes and maintain consistency in data quality.
• Provide expert support to ESG product users and resolve inquiries promptly.
• Identify and address data quality issues, recommending corrective actions as needed.
• Contribute to strategic and ad hoc projects focused on operational excellence and data enhancement.
• Prepare and present progress reports, including data visualizations, for leadership and stakeholders.
• Foster a culture aligned with ICE values, with a strong emphasis on driving a high-performance culture.
• Continuously identify and implement improvements to team and operational efficiency, supporting ongoing operational excellence.
• Proactively seek and implement opportunities to leverage AI and automation to maximize efficiency and achieve more with less.
• Design and deploy smart systems and automated workflows to streamline operations and enhance data quality.
  

Knowledge And Experience

• MBA in Finance or a graduation in Environmental Planning/Science or equaling qualification
• 5+ years experience in ESG/Sustainability data operations or reference data.
• In-depth knowledge of ESG content, regulatory frameworks, and capital markets.
• Proficiency in SQL, Macros, and Advanced Excel; experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in leveraging AI and automation to improve operational efficiency.
• Proven track record in building and deploying smart systems and automated workflows within data operations.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to align team objectives with organisational goals and deliver high-quality results.
