About the Role
The Market Head First Private is a leadership role within the Retail Banking division, responsible for managing a team of 815 Private Banking Relationship Managers (RMs). The role focuses on driving team performance across key financial metrics such as Assets Under Management (AUM), Total Relationship Value (TRV), and revenue. In addition to team oversight, the Market Head is expected to personally manage 1520 high-value clients and deliver individual revenue targets. This role is instrumental in delivering a seamless banking and wealth management experience and positioning IDFC FIRST Bank as the primary financial partner for affluent clients.
Key Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities
- Own and deliver the teams AUM, TRV, and revenue targets across all financial parameters.
- Mentor, coach, and support RMs through joint client meetings and performance reviews.
- Ensure a seamless banking and wealth management experience through product expertise and relationship excellence.
- Drive customer acquisition through team-led initiatives including natural market outreach, open market activities, and internal referrals via branch and digital networks.
- Personally manage a portfolio of 1520 large clients and achieve 1.5x of fixed compensation in revenue.
- Ensure full compliance with regulatory guidelines and internal policies.
- Maintain a high relationship management orientation and foster strong client connections.
- Focus on service excellence and execution to achieve business results.
- Lead hiring and retention efforts for the Private Banking RM team.
- Drive team development and ensure adequate staffing.
- Monitor and support achievement of individual and team targets.
- Promote a culture of customer centricity, innovation, compliance, and integrity.
Education
- Graduation: Any discipline (Full-Time)

- Postgraduation: MBA / PGDM (Preferred from Tier 1/ 2 institutes)
- Minimum 10 years of proven experience in private banking, wealth management, or retail liabilities.
- Prior leadership experience managing high-performing relationship teams.
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
- Deep understanding of wealth management products and affluent client servicing.
- Excellent interpersonal, coaching, and communication skills.
- Execution-focused with a commitment to customer satisfaction and portfolio quality.
- High compliance orientation and ethical standards.
