The Team: You are part of a global dynamic team. Fast paced, with ever expanding new ways of creating and delivering important content and analytics in our product portfolio. Our experts in this group provide comprehensive historical and forward-looking data and analysis on downstream global oil markets as well as extensive integrated analysis of the global chemical value chain – from energy, feedstocks and derivatives to end use markets.
The Impact: The analyst will be responsible for researching, analyzing, and managing data and will perform high level analytic work and modeling to generate short term and long term forecasts. The analyst will also be responsible for tracking the progress of different workstreams in a project and analyze the data to inform business decisions.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage the end-to-end project plan, and monitor/report progress.


• Performs high level analysis and modeling. Will develop and improve existing quantitative/analytic models.


• Collect data and contribute to model improvement.


• Carry out topical research to help clients understand drivers, trends, competitive landscape, and opportunities.


• Analyze data from various databases to drive optimization and improvement of product development and business strategies


• 
  Able to demonstrate an understanding of the model building process – working with stakeholders to understand requirements, translating requirements into a clear understanding of what the model needs to do, capturing the right data, model selection including a broad, up-to-date understanding of the possibilities, testing, implementation, communicate results to stakeholders, and documentation.


• Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy


• Collaborate with team members and support with ongoing research deliverables


• Develop Power Point presentations according to business needs

What We’re Looking For

• BA/BS or MS in Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Business, and/or related field of study preferred. Equivalent experience within their discipline also considered.


• Experience up to 5 years in a similar role, with 2+ years’ experience in data analytics and modeling. Previous experience analyzing petrochemical markets is a plus.


• Highly proficient in Project Management principles, methods, techniques and tools


• Designing and building models using Python and/or R, SQL


• Expert status in Microsoft office and advanced excel.


• Persistent, with a natural curiosity about fuel and petrochemical market fundamentals.

• Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills and demonstrated experience in using structured methods and data analysis to derive forecasts and research insights


• Displays well-rounded communication skills that implement good listening techniques, clear, concise writing style; and good verbal skills. The ability to communicate across a wide range of groups and personalities internally and externally. Public speaking experience is a plus.


• Works well in a global team environment, focusing on collaboration and adapting to the needs of a diverse team.


• Adept at managing multiple tasks and adhering to regular deadlines. Able to adjust priorities throughout the day.
