Mechanical Engineer

• Own mechanical design and integration of lab liquid-handling instruments and subsystems.
• Convert workflow and user needs into mechanical design requirements and concepts.
• Design and develop mechanisms, motion systems, fluidic hardware, and product enclosures (sheet metal and injection-molded plastic parts).
• Create 3D CAD models, detailed drawings, and design documentation.
• Drive mechanical verification and validation (V&V) activities.
• Perform risk assessment and mitigation (FMEA).
• Apply DFM/DFA principles and support design transfer to manufacturing.
• Work closely with suppliers and OEM partners for prototyping, manufacturing, and issue resolution.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 quality system processes and documentation requirements.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

• Strong experience in mechanical design for lab instruments, automation systems, or liquid-handling platforms.
• Expertise in precision mechanisms, motion systems, and fluidic integration.
• Experience designing enclosures using sheet metal and injection-molded plastics.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD tools (SolidWorks, Creo, or equivalent).
• Experience with V&V, FMEA, and DFM/DFA practices.
• Familiarity with working in an ISO 9001 design and development environment.
• Good experience on product development process and working with remote team.

  Strong in mechanical engineering fundamentals
• Experience in Vendor Qualification, developing Manufacturing Quality plan, Tooling and component qualification & Thorough understanding of PPAP process.
• Knowledge of various fabrication methods for the manufacturing of metal and plastic parts machining, welding, sheet metal fabrication, and injection molding is required.

DESIRABLE SKILLS:

• Experience in lab automation, IVD, analytical, or biomedical instruments.
• Knowledge of liquid handling principles (dispensing, pumping, fluid routing).
• Exposure to ISO 13485 or regulated product development.
• Experience working with global suppliers and contract manufacturers.

Hands-on experience in prototype build, testing, and root cause analysis.
