- Packaging Developer - AGM/DGM
The Packaging Developer is responsible for designing and developing packaging solutions that effectively protect, preserve, and enhance the brand’s products while maintaining high levels of quality and sustainability. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams, including product development, marketing, and production, to ensure the packaging meets all industry standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities

• Packaging Design and Development:
• Design innovative and functional packaging solutions for liquor products, ensuring that the design aligns with brand aesthetics and market trends.
• Select appropriate materials (glass, plastic, metal, etc.) based on factors like product protection, aesthetics, cost, and sustainability.
• Develop prototypes and conduct testing to assess packaging durability, ease of handling, and overall product protection during transportation and storage.
• Regulatory Compliance:
• Ensure packaging meets all legal, regulatory, and industry standards (e.g., labeling laws, alcohol content disclosure, recycling standards).
• Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure the correct labeling and packaging components are used.
• Sustainability Initiatives:
• Work on sourcing sustainable and eco-friendly materials to reduce the environmental impact of packaging.
• Explore and implement innovative packaging solutions that align with sustainability goals, such as recyclable, biodegradable, or reusable materials.
• Branding and Marketing Support:
• Develop packaging that aligns with the brand’s identity and communicates the desired message to consumers.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to design promotional packaging for special editions or limited releases.
  
• Ensure the packaging supports the overall consumer experience and product appeal in the competitive liquor market.
• Cost and Supply Chain Management:
• Monitor packaging costs and collaborate with suppliers to ensure materials and manufacturing processes are cost-effective.
• Work with the supply chain and production teams to ensure packaging is delivered on time and meets production requirements.
• Testing and Quality Assurance:
• Conduct various tests such as drop, shelf life, and environmental stress tests to ensure packaging performs well under different conditions.
• Ensure consistency and high-quality standards in the production of packaging materials.
• Collaboration and Project Management:
• Manage the entire packaging development process, from initial concept through production.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders (product development, marketing, and design teams) and external vendors to ensure packaging is delivered on time and within budget.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for packaging production issues.
• Market Research:
• Stay up to date with market trends, consumer preferences, and competitor packaging to ensure the packaging stays competitive and relevant in the market.
• Research new technologies and materials in the packaging industry to stay ahead of trends.
  

Qualifications And Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.

• 8+ years’ experience in packaging development, particularly in the food or beverage industry (alcohol experience is a plus).
• Strong understanding of materials, packaging processes, and manufacturing techniques.
• Knowledge of environmental sustainability practices in packaging.
• Excellent problem-solving and project management skills.
• Strong communication skills to work with various teams and vendors.
• Creative thinking with an eye for design and attention to detail.
