Job Description

Job Title: Assistant Manager Payroll, Compensation & Benefits (C&B)
Location: Hyderabad
Department: Human Resources
Reporting To: Manager / Head HR Operations
Role Summary:

The Assistant Manager Payroll, Compensation & Benefits will be responsible for end-to-end payroll management, statutory compliance, and HRMS administration for a large-scale workforce (35,000+ blue-collar and staff employees). The role requires strong expertise in HRMS platforms such as Darwinbox, ZingHR, or similar systems, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing across multiple sites.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Payroll Management:

- Manage monthly payroll processing for 35,000+ employees across multiple sites, ensuring 100% accuracy and compliance.

- Validate attendance, overtime, incentive, and variable pay data through coordination with operations and HR site teams.

- Ensure timely disbursement of salaries, full and final settlements, and off-cycle payments.

- Reconcile payroll inputs and outputs with finance and statutory teams.
2. HRMS Administration:

- Administer and maintain Darwinbox, ZingHR, or similar HRMS platforms for payroll, attendance, and employee lifecycle management.

- Support HR digitization initiatives, including workflow automation, dashboards, and reporting modules.

- Troubleshoot HRMS issues, manage data accuracy, and coordinate with HRMS vendors for enhancements and integrations.
3. Compensation & Benefits:

- Assist in C&B planning, annual increment cycles, and benchmarking exercises.

- Ensure correct implementation of salary structures, variable pay components, and benefits policies.

- Maintain records of employee benefits such as insurance, gratuity, and reimbursements.
4. Statutory Compliance:

- Ensure compliance with all applicable labor laws, including PF, ESI, PT, LWF, Gratuity, Bonus, and Minimum Wages.

- Coordinate with statutory auditors and government bodies for inspections and audits.

- Prepare and submit periodic statutory returns and challans.
5. Reporting & Analytics:

- Generate monthly payroll MIS reports, cost summaries, variance analyses, and headcount dashboards.

- Support management in payroll budgeting and workforce cost forecasting.

- Provide analytics for decision-making on compensation trends and employee cost optimization.
Key Skills & Competencies:

- Strong knowledge of end-to-end payroll processing for large blue-collar workforces.

- Hands-on experience in HRMS platforms like Darwinbox, ZingHR, SAP SuccessFactors, or similar.

- Good understanding of labor laws and statutory compliance.

- Excellent attention to detail, analytical ability, and problem-solving skills.

- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.

- Advanced Excel and data handling capabilities.
Qualifications & Experience:

Qualification: MBA / PGDM in Human Resources, or equivalent.
Experience: 58 years of experience in Payroll, Compensation & Benefits, with exposure to large-scale workforce management (preferably in manufacturing, facilities management, or waste management sectors).
HRMS Expertise: Mandatory experience in Darwinbox and/or ZingHR.
Location: Hyderabad (must be open to site visits and coordination with multiple operational locations).
