Senior QA Engineer (Airline PSS)

Location: Client Premises, Dubai, UAE

Salary: AED 10,000 to 13,000 per month

We are looking for a QA Engineer with foundational experience in the airline domain and basic exposure to Passenger Service Systems (PSS). The role involves executing test cases, validating backend data, and supporting quality checks for airline reservation, inventory, and related systems. The candidate will work closely with the QA and development teams to perform functional, regression, and database testing, primarily using MongoDB and Oracle. Responsibilities also include identifying defects, documenting results, and participating in agile team activities to ensure smooth delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• 
  Execute test cases for airline reservation, inventory, and PSS-related modules with thorough functional coverage.
• Perform functional and regression testing across release cycles, maintaining traceability from requirements through to results.
• Conduct database testing using MongoDB and Oracle — validating data integrity, backend records, and query outputs.
• Perform structured API testing to verify request/response correctness, schema compliance, and error handling.
• Identify, log, and track defects with clear reproduction steps and supporting evidence, following through to resolution.
• Document test plans, test cases, execution results, and QA sign-off reports to a professional standard.
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and project stakeholders to clarify requirements and resolve ambiguities early.
• Participate actively in agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Support UAT activities and contribute to pre-release quality checks.
• Raise quality risks proactively and communicate them clearly to team leads and project managers.

Technical Skills Required

• Functional Testing — test case design, execution, and regression coverage across airline workflows.
• Database Testing — data validation and SQL/query execution using MongoDB and Oracle.

  API Testing — REST/SOAP API validation using tools such as Postman or SoapUI.
• Defect Management — proficiency with issue tracking tools such as JIRA or Azure DevOps.
• Airline Domain & PSS — working familiarity with Passenger Service Systems and airline reservation/inventory concepts.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on QA experience in software testing environments.
• Prior exposure to airline domain systems, preferably including PSS platforms such as Amadeus, Sabre, SITA, or equivalent.
• Demonstrated experience executing functional, regression, and integration test cycles in an agile setting.
• Working knowledge of MongoDB and Oracle for backend data validation.
• Proficiency in API testing tools — Postman, SoapUI, or similar.
• Familiarity with agile/scrum delivery methodologies and sprint-based test planning.
• Strong analytical mindset with sharp attention to detail in defect identification and documentation.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
• ISTQB Foundation certification is an advantage.
