Post – Quality Manager - Work from Office
Location – Kothrud Pune
Job Shift –Night Shift (7 PM to 5 AM) - 5 Days a Week
Position Summary
The Quality Manager is responsible for overseeing and enhancing the quality framework for Mortgage Underwriting and Seasoned Loan Review processes. This role ensures adherence to investor/agency guidelines, Non-QM requirements, internal credit policies, and regulatory standards. The Quality Manager will lead quality audits, perform root-cause analysis, drive process improvements, and champion Six Sigma methodologies to reduce defects and enhance operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Assurance & Audit Management
- Lead daily/weekly/monthly quality audits for Mortgage Underwriting and Seasoned Loans Review, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and completeness.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance quality checklists, sampling methodologies, and audit SOPs.
- Ensure compliance with investor, agency, and Non-QM underwriting guidelines.
- Monitor and track quality trends, error patterns, and defect levels across projects.
- Perform second-level reviews and provide expert judgment on complex credit scenarios.
Process Improvement & Six Sigma
- Apply Six Sigma, Lean, and other process-improvement methodologies to streamline underwriting and review workflows.
- Conduct root-cause analysis (RCA) on recurring errors; define corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
- Drive continuous improvement projects to reduce defect rates and improve turnaround time (TAT).
- Develop and implement quality control KPIs, dashboards, and reporting mechanisms.
Training & Coaching
- Partner with Training/Operations teams to design targeted learning modules based on audit findings.
- Coach underwriters, credit analysts, and reviewers on guideline application and quality expectations.
- Conduct calibration sessions to ensure consistency in credit decisioning across teams.
Governance, Risk & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to federal, state, and investor regulations, including ATR/QM, RESPA, TILA, and Fair Lending guidelines.
- Oversee periodic policy updates and ensure teams are aligned with the latest investor bulletins and regulatory changes.
- Participate in internal/external audits and support client or investor quality reviews.
Reporting & Stakeholder Management
- Prepare detailed quality reports, trend analyses, and executive summaries for leadership.
- Present defect trends, RCA insights, and improvement roadmaps to onshore/offshore leadership teams.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Operations, Compliance, Training, Technology, and Client Teams) to enhance end-to-end quality performance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
- 10+ years of mortgage underwriting / credit risk experience, including hands-on Non-QM and agency guidelines.

- Strong experience in Quality Control/Quality Assurance for mortgage operations.
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification (preferred).
- Quality certification such as ISO, COPC, or equivalent is an advantage.
- Excellent knowledge of U.S. mortgage guidelines (Agency, Non-QM, DSCR, Bank Statement, FHA/VA preferred).
- Strong analytical skills with ability to identify patterns, trends, and root causes.
- Proficiency in Excel, QC tools, reporting dashboards, and workflow systems.
- Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with OCR/AIS tools and automated underwriting systems.
- Prior exposure to seasoned loan review, credit re-underwriting, or post-close QC.
- Experience managing offshore/onshore workflows.
- Ability to work in fast-paced, high-volume environments with tight SLAs.
