Role Summary
We are hiring a SAM Operations SME to support a client engagement focused on software discovery, normalization, and license compliance support using Flexera ONE. You will improve software visibility, reduce unknowns, support ELP cycles, and enable optimization/reclaim outcomes.
Software Discovery & Normalization
- Monitor software discovery across sources; manage unknown/unrecognized software queues
- Maintain publisher/product/version hygiene; validate recognition and mappings
- Validate software-device/user associations and long-tail software visibility
- Support onboarding/testing of new software sources/connectors
- Maintain and validate entitlement repository and supporting documentation
- Support license model inputs (metrics/rules/mappings) under guidance
- Assist periodic ELP runs, validation checks, and compliance/risk reporting
- Support audit readiness activities and evidence collection (in-scope publishers)
- Validate availability; record allocations/transfers/reclaims in Flexera (as applicable)
- Support harvesting/offboarding workflows; coordinate with ITSM/deployment teams
- Track request turnaround and aging metrics; maintain traceability
- Produce SAM dashboards and monthly insights: unknowns trends, data quality, compliance support metrics

- Unknown/unrecognized software aging and trend reports
- Top publishers/products/versions install reports
- ELP/compliance validation outputs and risk/exposure summaries (supporting role)
- Reclaim/harvesting activity reports and request metrics
- 4–8+ years in SAM/ITAM operations (client delivery preferred)
- Hands-on experience with Flexera ONE (preferred) or similar SAM tools
- Working knowledge of software recognition/normalization, entitlements, and ELP concepts
- Strong data skills (Excel/Sheets); ability to reconcile installs vs entitlements
- Strong documentation and stakeholder communication skill
- ITIL Foundation; IAITAM certification (CSAM/CHAMP)
- Familiarity with major publisher licensing basics (e.g., Microsoft, Oracle, Adobe)
- Exposure to ServiceNow or similar ITSM tooling
