Indirect Tax Director

Designation - Director Level.

The Main Responsibilities

• Perform GL reconciliations of tax-oriented accounts, run SAP queries/reports, research open items including conferring with teams (e.g. Billing, Accounts Payable, Tax Compliance, and Accounting) who post journal entries to tax accounts, identify/document open item causality, propose/coordinate/execute open item remediation (including adjustment journal entries and tax return credits/refunds,) and maintain tax account reconciliations in the companys account reconciliation tool.

• Share Transaction Tax team’s responsibility to provide useful information to internal customers in a timely, accurate, and complete fashion. This information may include tax estimates, tax exemptions, recurring and ad-hoc data pulls/analysis, tax return preparation, use tax accrual analysis and review, leasing system JE’s, and customized reporting on revenue, line count and minutes of use.
• Provide testing support for tax data warehouse necessitated by system migrations and database enhancements.
• Assist with acquiring, reconciling, and loading billing system data into the data warehouse for all billing systems.
• Support leasing system reporting and the validation of its taxation rules.
• Conduct data analysis of large volumes of data to support various tax billing system and ERP system efforts.
• Meaningfully contribute to initiatives that leverage such tools as Alteryx to create efficiencies and cost savings by improving systems or methods both within and outside the Tax Department. Refine and document processes and monitor systems to manage workload while ensuring data integrity.

Required

• 10 or more years of experience in Transaction Sales & Use Tax/GST Tax .
• Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Strong proficiency in the Microsoft Suite of products (Word, Excel, etc.)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work cross-functionally within the department.
• Ability to work independently and effectively prioritize work to meet deadlines in a high-performance environment.
