Job Description

ITP Media Group is one of the largest media companies in the Middle East, with a portfolio of more than 100 brands. We deliver quality, real time content to our audiences, viewers, delegates and guests through digital, print, events, awards, video content, social media platforms and social media influencers. These brands include a range of major names from Time Out and Hotelier Middle East to Commercial Interior Design and Harper’s Bazaar, Construction Week, Esquire and GQ.
Time Out Dubai is looking for a savvy, dynamic Features Editor to deliver engaging content across its digital and social platforms. You must be passionate about creating original content, driving website traffic via both topical features and evergreen articles, and bring boundless enthusiasm for bringing big, cross-platform content packages to life. Joining the Time Out team based in Dubai, you’ll be working in a fast-paced environment, and will play an important role in keeping the brand energy high.
Requirements
Key responsibilities
  • Embrace Time Out’s digital-first philosophy. A strong background in digital publishing is absolutely essential.
  • Drive Time Out Dubai’s features agenda across all brand verticals.
  • Work with the News Editor to ensure Time Out is the first to identify a potential story, and the first to market with the lowdown, quickly following up on subjects, topics and events that will make compelling content pieces and making sure they’re executed in line with our overall brand strategy, at a high level.
  • Generate and see ideas through to fruition. Develop and execute innovative storytelling formats across Time Out’s digital, social, video and print platforms.
  • Create content that drives unique GCC users to timeoutdubai.com, and manage a features agenda that helps Time Out Dubai meet its monthly traffic targets and increases traffic to timeoutdubai YOY.
  • Pitch, plan, write, commission, edit and proof content, making sure content is executed in line with Time Out’s SEO and social strategies. Sub and optimise news and features content written by other team members.
  • Write clever, compelling headlines and stand firsts, and edit those on other stories as needed
  • Contribute to the Time Out Dubai editorial calendar, planning and setting the features agenda. Keep it current, identifying commercial and audience opportunities within it.
  • Support the Editor and other team members in the overall production, execution and management of Time Out Dubai’s digital, social, video, application and print products
  • Alongside the Editor, ensure Time Out’s editorial standards are met, all relevant copyrights have been cleared, content is optimised for SEO and content meets local and legal guidelines.
  • Assist with posting and creating content, which may include sponsored content, to social media.
  • Work with social media and video team to create successful video content and be ready to jump front-of-camera when required.
  • Support the sales team by writing commercial content for timeoutdubai.com
  • Have your finger on the pulse of the local scene; develop good relationships with PRs, and use your professional contacts and social-media networks to be the first to identify the next big thing.
  • Act as an effective brand ambassador for Time Out and an evangelist for our brand in the market.
  • Undertake reviews and attend events outside of office hours.
  • Support the Editor on Time Out’s annual event and awards properties.

  • Software: Google Analytics (essential); Adobe InDesign, Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop (desirable).
  • Education: Must be educated to degree level or equivalent industry qualification.
