BMS Software Testing Engineer

Documentation & ReportingThe Incumbent will be responsible for-

Job Purpose-

To lead and execute BMS software integration with battery packs and vehicle systems, ensuring robust design, validation, and seamless communication across EV components and protocols.

RoleAccountabilities-

BMS & Vehicle Integration-

1. Lead BMS software logic/algorithum development and integration with battery packs and vehicle systems.

2. Strong knowledge of BMS software functioning, BMS integration with battery and BMS integration with vehicle.

3. Support integration of EV components (EVCC, VCU, BCS, PDU, Junction Box) with BMS.

Knowledge of various EV vehicle components and architecture like EVCC, BCS, VCU, PDU or junction box.

Design & Validation-

1. Knowledge of Design, test, and validate BMS algorithms, architecture, and software functionalities.

Validate new features, protocols, and logics; prepare reports and finalize with stakeholders.

Testing & Operations-

1. Plan, prepare, and execute test procedures, testing strategies, and validation guidelines.

2. Experience of battery data diagnosis from CAN logs and tools

3. Fault finding, troubleshooting, RCA and protocol integration capabilities.

4. New feature and logic testing in BMS protocol and logs, share the report and finalize the logics.

5. Experience in testing procedure preparation.

Coordinate with vendor and deliver the projects with in timeline.

Communication Protocols & Tools-

1. Strong knowledge of and experience of CAN PROTOCOL DBC, DBC reading, DBC creation and protocol development according to requirement.

2. Develop, read, and analyze CAN DBC files; manage vehicle-level communication flow and handshaking.

3. Ensure compatibility with multiple communication protocols (CAN, CAN-FD, LIN, UDS, RS232, RS485, UART).

4. Experience of CAN communication flow understanding, protocol understanding, vehicle integration and handshaking knowledge.

5. Basic Knowledge of BLE 2.0, SPI, MQTT, TCP/IP, and multi-bus network with telematics.

Utilize diagnostic tools (BusMaster, CANoe, Canalyzer, P-CAN, V-Signalizer) for testing, validation, and fault diagnosis.

1. Conduct battery data diagnosis from CAN logs, perform troubleshooting and RCA, and implement corrective actions.

Good understanding of hardware bench set-up creation and testing for BMS and battery.

Collaboration & Delivery-

Collaborate with vendors, internal teams, and customers to ensure timely and high-quality project delivery.

Documentation & Reporting-

1. Ensure effective documentation, including test reports, 8D analysis, and technical presentations.

2.Contribute to knowledge sharing and compliance with quality and safety standards.
