About the Role
Accounting Supervisor (REMOTE - Full Time Permanent)
Shiva Exports Ltd. is seeking an Accounting Supervisor to oversee daily accounting operations, ensure financial accuracy, and maintain compliance for the Shiva Group of companies. This role requires strong technical accounting skills and experience managing complex, multi-entity operations across US and Canada.
Key Responsibilities
Financial/Accounting Tasks
- Prepare, reconcile, and review monthly financial statements for US and Canadian entities.
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing reports, including AP, AR, inventory, and inter-company transactions reconciliation.
- Consolidate financial data from multiple branches to provide a unified view of company performance.
- Analyze financial trends and variances, presenting findings to management.
- Ensure timely submission of government remittances.
- Manage multi-currency transactions.
- Coordinate with external accounting firms for year-end processes.
Taxation
- Apply knowledge of CRA and IRS taxation laws for periodical tax return filings.
- Reconcile and remit monthly, quarterly, and annual tax returns.
Team Building
- Train, supervise, and coordinate junior accountants.
- Identify and implement measures to improve departmental productivity and task automation.
- Foster a collaborative team culture.
Skills and Competencies
- Expert knowledge of GAAP and procedures under Canadian and US laws.
- Proficiency in Excel and QuickBooks.
- Comfortable in an entrepreneurial and high-accountability environment.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.

- Clear and professional communication and presentation skills.
Education & Experience
- Formal education in accounting is mandatory.
- Accounting designation preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting in a supervisory role.
Work Environment
- Job Type: REMOTE (Full Time Permanent)
- Working Hours: Monday to Friday 9am to 5:30pm (EST) + additional hours as needed.
- Must have a quiet designated working area and a laptop/computer with webcam access.
- Required to attend virtual video meetings.
