Cloud Specialist - Backend Development

About the Role

We are seeking talented Senior Software Engineers to join our fast-growing Engineering team. You will play a pivotal role in delivering secure, scalable solutions integrated with our internal and external systems, while constantly improving our engineering standards. As a Senior Software Engineer, you are expected to balance technical proficiency, execution excellence, and team collaboration — continuously contributing towards building world-class travel technology platforms.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical Domain & Engineering ExcellenceDesign, develop, and deliver solutions for well-defined components and services.
2. Apply sound technical design and architectural practices, ensuring security, performance, and scalability.
3. Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code using modern best practices (TDD, CI/CD).
4. Contribute to technical discussions, code reviews, and the adoption of new technologies.
5. Execution & Operational ExcellenceParticipate actively in Agile/Scrum teams, contributing to backlog refinement, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
6. Provide task-level estimates and proactively flag potential blockers.
7. Maintain focus on delivering quality outcomes by incorporating testing, documentation, and best coding practices into everyday work.

   Collaborate with DevOps, QA, and Product teams to ensure smooth delivery to production environments.

Required Qualifications & Experience

1. 7+ years of professional software engineering experience (open to varying levels).
2. Proficient in backend development using Java (Spring Boot)/Nodejs and Python. Familiar with front end development technologies such as React.js is a plus.
3. Solid understanding of Git. Branching strategies, merging strategies and best practices.

4. Strong proficiency in Data Structures & Algorithms, problem-solving aptitude.
5. Deep understanding of the challenges associated with operating large-scale production systems with experience in continuous integration, test automation, and monitoring.
6. Solid understanding of JavaScript (ES5) and front-end integration.
7. Strong grasp of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift).
8. Familiarity with modern CI/CD tools (GitLab, Jenkins, Maven, Gradle) and Git best practices.
9. Experience in building scalable, highly available, and secure applications.
10. Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred

1. Experience with application monitoring tools (Open telemetry standards).
2. Exposure to Agile development, cloud cost optimization, and security best practices.
3. Experience with performance testing, load testing, and monitoring at scale.
