Data Specialist

Requirements:

Key Responsibilities:

Data & Application Development

1. Design and develop analytical models, data pipelines, and business intelligence solutions
2. Build and enhance applications to support Tax, Assurance and Advisory processes (front and back end development)
3. Perform ETL activities, data ingestion, and system integrations (APIs, SQL, etc.)
4. Develop Python based applications
5. Improve front end for existing team tools using Vue.js
6. Create testing for tools
7. Assist with DevOps deployment of DIS Team Apps
8. Develop tools to assist in data manipulation, transformation, and automation

Process Improvement & Analysis

1. Collaborate with end users and business stakeholders to translate needs into technical solutions

2. Contribute to the buildout of DIS applications in Python with Vue.js front end to work with other internal developer tooling to support engagement teams
3. Balance ongoing process work with project based innovation and conceptualization
4. Work with other technology teams to integrate tooling
5. Be responsible for coordinating tool deployments

Reporting & Visualization

1. Design and deliver reports, dashboards, and KPI scorecards using tools such as PowerBI, PowerQuery or Tableau
2. Support leadership and engagement teams with insights that drive better decision making
3. Create dashboards to demonstrate DIS Team metrics

Team & Collaboration

1. Participate in stand up meetings, discovery calls, and project discussions
2. Work closely with business leaders to deliver high value outcomes
3. Contribute to team culture by prioritizing collaboration, autonomy, and flexibility

Required Qualifications:

Get Hired

1. Bachelor s degree in computer science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or related field
2. Strong programming background with experience in Python, MySQL, and Vue.js
3. Experience with application development (front and back end) and familiarity with agile or iterative development practices
4. Solid understanding of data process automation, data visualization, and reporting
5. Effective communication skills: ability to set expectations, collaborate across teams, and explain technical concepts to non technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Experience with PowerBI or Tableau
2. Experience with Back End or Full Stack Application Development
3. Familiarity with machine learning and predictive analytics is a plus
4. Familiarity with DevOps processes a plus
5. QA experience a plus
6. Exposure to professional services, accounting, or finance industries is a plus
