Job Description
What role will you play in the team:
As an Investment Banking Analyst focusing on Deal Origination, you'll be a vital part of our team, responsible for identifying and cultivating new business opportunities. You will contribute to the firm's growth by sourcing potential deals, conducting preliminary due diligence, and supporting the initial phases of client engagement.
What you will do:
You will conduct market research to identify potential clients and industry trends, analyze financial statements to assess deal feasibility, and prepare pitch books and presentations for client meetings. Your work will directly impact the firm's ability to secure new deals and expand its market presence.
Key Responsibility:
- Conduct comprehensive market research to identify potential M&A targets and industry trends.
- Analyze financial statements and create preliminary valuation models to assess deal feasibility.
- Prepare compelling pitch books and presentations to attract potential clients.
- Support senior team members in client meetings and due diligence processes.
- Maintain a database of potential clients and track deal origination progress.
- Stay updated on market developments, regulatory changes, and competitor activities.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including legal and finance, to ensure seamless deal execution.
- Assist in the preparation of term sheets and other legal documents.
- Build and maintain relationships with industry professionals and potential clients.
- Adhere to compliance policies and ethical standards in all business dealings.
Required Qualification and Skills:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of financial modeling and valuation techniques.
- Proficiency in using financial databases such as Bloomberg Terminal, FactSet, and Capital IQ.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with M&A transactions is a plus.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in Excel, including macros and VBA.
- Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
