Job Description

What role will you play in the team: As an Investment Banking Analyst specializing in M&A Advisory, your primary role involves supporting senior bankers in executing M&A transactions. You'll be responsible for conducting industry research, building financial models, preparing pitch books, and assisting in the due diligence process.

What you will do: You will work on live M&A deals, performing valuation analyses, creating presentations, and managing data rooms. Your contributions will directly impact the success of our M&A advisory services and client outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth industry research to identify potential M&A targets and acquirers.
  • Build and maintain complex financial models for valuation and deal structuring purposes.
  • Perform valuation analyses using various techniques, including DCF, comparable company analysis, and precedent transactions.
  • Prepare pitch books and other marketing materials to support business development efforts.
  • Assist in the due diligence process by gathering and analyzing financial and operational data.
  • Manage data rooms and ensure the accuracy and confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Support senior bankers in all aspects of M&A transactions, from origination to closing.
  • Stay up-to-date on market trends, regulatory changes, and industry developments affecting M&A activity in India.
  • Contribute to the development of best practices and process improvements within the M&A advisory team.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience in investment banking, corporate finance, or related fields.
  • Strong financial modeling and valuation skills, including proficiency in DCF, comparable company analysis, and precedent transactions.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and financial databases such as Bloomberg Terminal, FactSet, and Dealogic.
  • Knowledge of M&A transaction processes and legal documentation.

A Day in the Life: You might begin your day by updating financial models for a live M&A deal, followed by preparing a presentation for a client meeting. You'll spend the afternoon analyzing data in the data room and collaborating with senior bankers on deal strategy.
