What role will you play in the team

As a Junior Business Intelligence and Data Visualization Specialist, you will serve as the crucial bridge between raw enterprise data and executive decision-making. You will be responsible for transforming complex, multi-source data repositories into intuitive, dynamic, and visually compelling dashboards. Your role requires a deep understanding of business metrics, key performance indicators, and data modeling best practices to empower leadership teams across various domains to track operational efficiency, identify market trends, and drive data-backed strategic growth initiatives.

What you will do

You will design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade interactive dashboards using industry-leading visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, and Google Data Studio. Your day-to-day tasks will involve extracting and consolidating data from diverse sources including MySQL and cloud databases, writing optimized SQL scripts to cleanse and transform data, and building automated reporting workflows that minimize manual intervention. You will also engage directly with department heads to gather visualization requirements, translate business questions into analytical frameworks, and conduct user training sessions.

Key responsibility

• Design, build, and publish interactive, publication-quality dashboards and reports using Tableau, Power BI, and Google Data Studio for executive leadership.
• Write advanced SQL queries, stored procedures, and views to extract, join, and aggregate data from MySQL and relational databases for reporting needs.
• Establish robust Database Management practices to ensure high data integrity, optimal query performance, and secure access control across BI pipelines.
• Collaborate with data engineering teams to design ETL workflows, ensuring seamless data ingestion and transformation from operational databases into reporting layers.
• 
  Perform comprehensive exploratory data analysis to identify hidden business insights, customer behavior patterns, and operational bottlenecks.
• Maintain dashboard documentation, data dictionaries, and version control for all deployed reporting artifacts across the enterprise.
• Automate report distribution and data refresh cycles using native scheduling tools, APIs, and low-code workflow automation platforms like Zapier and Make.com.

Required Qualification and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Statistics, Business Analytics, or a quantitative discipline.
• 0-1 years of professional experience designing dashboards, conducting data analysis, and working with business intelligence platforms.
• Proficiency in data visualization tools with certified or demonstrated expertise in Tableau and Power BI.
• Strong command of Database Management principles, MySQL, SQL scripting, and relational data modeling concepts.
• Familiarity with Google Data Studio, basic Python or R scripting, and workflow automation tools like Zapier or Make.com.
• Exceptional attention to detail with strong visual design aesthetics and an ability to translate complex data into clear graphical narratives.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with proven ability to present analytical findings to diverse corporate audiences.

Your day begins by checking automated dashboard refresh logs to ensure all nightly data pipelines from MySQL databases executed successfully. You then jump into a client requirement gathering call to understand new KPI tracking needs for the sales department. Afterward, you spend the bulk of your morning writing complex SQL queries to join multiple tables and transform raw transactional records into structured datasets. In the afternoon, you open Power BI and Tableau to design visual components, apply custom color palettes, and configure drill-through actions for executive stakeholders. Before logging off, you review feedback on a recently deployed dashboard and implement requested filter adjustments.
