Junior Data Visualization Developer

What role will you play in the team

As a Junior Data Visualization Developer, you will act as a crucial link between raw corporate data repositories and executive decision-making frameworks. Your mission is to transform complex, multi-dimensional business metrics into intuitive, highly responsive visual dashboards that empower leadership to track operational performance, identify market trends, and drive data-backed strategies across the entire enterprise ecosystem.

What you will do

You will design, develop, and maintain interactive business intelligence dashboards using advanced features of Tableau, Power BI, and Google Data Studio. You will write optimized SQL queries to extract data from PostgreSQL and MySQL databases, clean incoming records using Python and R scripts, and ensure that all visual outputs adhere to corporate design standards and real-time data accuracy requirements.

Key responsibility

• Translate complex business requirements into clear, interactive executive dashboards utilizing Tableau, Power BI, and Google Data Studio.
• Write highly optimized SQL queries, stored procedures, and views to extract and aggregate data from PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB databases.
• Develop automated data pipelines and ETL workflows using Apache Nifi and Talend to ensure continuous data freshness for all reporting views.
• Perform rigorous data profiling, cleansing, and validation to guarantee absolute integrity of metrics presented in visualization layers.
• Collaborate with database administrators to design efficient star and snowflake database schemas optimized for rapid reporting performance.
  
• Integrate statistical analysis outputs generated via Python, R, and SPSS directly into visual dashboards for advanced predictive insights.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of dashboard architecture, data lineage, and user access control matrices.

Required Qualification and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
• Proficiency in data visualization tools including Tableau Desktop, Tableau Server, Power BI Service, and Google Data Studio.
• Advanced SQL querying skills combined with practical database management experience in PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB.
• Programming competence in Python and R for automated data preparation and statistical data manipulation tasks.
• Familiarity with ETL tools such as Talend, Informatica, and Apache Nifi for end-to-end data integration.
• Basic understanding of big data frameworks including Apache Hadoop and Apache Spark for querying distributed storage systems.
• Knowledge of statistical software packages like SAS, SPSS, and Minitab for validating underlying dataset distributions.

A Day in the Life

Your day kicks off by checking dashboard refresh logs and resolving minor data pipeline bottlenecks using Apache Nifi. You will then meet with the marketing department to gather new requirements for a customer churn visualization report. In the afternoon, you will write complex SQL queries in PostgreSQL, build custom calculated fields in Tableau, and finalize the UI layout before presenting the finished prototype to the analytics manager.
