Junior Data Visualization Specialist

What role will you play in the team

As a Junior Data Visualization Specialist, you will act as a critical bridge between raw enterprise data and executive decision-making. Your role involves transforming intricate datasets into intuitive, visually compelling dashboards and interactive reports that empower business stakeholders to uncover actionable trends, track key performance indicators, and execute data-driven strategies with absolute confidence.

What you will do

You will design, develop, and maintain dynamic dashboards using Tableau and Power BI, connecting directly to various relational databases and data warehouses via optimized SQL queries. You will collaborate with data science and analytics teams to understand reporting requirements, clean underlying data sources, and ensure high data integrity across all visual outputs delivered to leadership.

Key responsibility

• Design, develop, and deploy interactive dashboards, reports, and visual data stories using Tableau, Power BI, and Google Data Studio.
• Write complex, highly optimized SQL queries to extract, transform, and aggregate data from relational databases including MySQL and PostgreSQL.
• Collaborate with data engineering teams to build and maintain efficient ETL pipelines using Talend and Informatica for data integration.
• Perform statistical analysis and data validation to ensure the accuracy and reliability of metrics displayed in executive dashboards.
• Translate abstract business requirements and strategic objectives into clear, quantifiable visual design specifications and reporting frameworks.
• 
  Automate regular reporting workflows and optimize dashboard rendering performance for seamless user experience across devices.
• Conduct user training sessions and workshops for internal stakeholders to maximize dashboard adoption and self-service analytics capabilities.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of data sources, transformation logics, metric definitions, and dashboard version histories.

Required Qualification and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, or a relevant quantitative discipline.
• Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, and Google Data Studio with a strong portfolio of visual projects.
• Strong command over database management and querying languages including SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB.
• Basic familiarity with programming languages like Python and R for data manipulation and preprocessing tasks.
• Working knowledge of ETL tools such as Informatica, Talend, and Apache Nifi for managing data pipelines.
• Solid understanding of statistical analysis software like SPSS, SAS, or Minitab for advanced data interpretation.
• Exceptional attention to detail, design aesthetics, and the ability to present complex data insights simply and effectively.

A Day in the Life

Your day kicks off by checking dashboard usage analytics and resolving any overnight data refresh errors in Power BI. You will then spend the late morning writing advanced SQL queries to pull customer churn metrics and incorporating them into an interactive Tableau report for the marketing VP. After lunch, you will meet with product managers to gather requirements for a new executive KPI tracker.
