What role will you play in the team

You will serve as an essential data integration specialist dedicated to executing seamless enterprise database migrations and developing complex Extract, Transform, Load workflows. Your core mandate is to ensure data integrity, optimal transformation speeds, and zero-loss migrations across disparate relational and big data repositories. You will collaborate directly with enterprise database administrators and data architects to build scalable ingestion pipelines that power core analytics engines.

What you will do

You will design, develop, and test automated ETL jobs using industry-standard tools like Informatica and Talend, alongside custom Python scripting. Your responsibilities include profiling source data, mapping data dictionaries, writing optimized SQL, MySQL, and PostgreSQL queries, and validating data transformations. You will troubleshoot pipeline failures, optimize slow-running database queries, and maintain thorough documentation of all data migration routines and schema mappings.

Key responsibility

• Develop, test, and deploy robust ETL pipelines and data integration workflows using Informatica, Talend, and custom scripts.
• Migrate legacy database structures to modern PostgreSQL and MySQL environments ensuring zero data corruption.
• Write complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers for data validation and pre-load cleaning operations.
• Extract and load large volumes of transactional data into Hadoop and Spark big data processing environments.
• Perform comprehensive data profiling, cleansing, and anomaly detection across legacy and target databases.
• Establish monitoring protocols for scheduled ETL jobs to proactively detect and resolve execution failures.
• Maintain detailed architectural mapping documents, version-controlled repository scripts, and deployment runbooks.

Required Qualification and Skills

Applicants are required to hold a degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, or Engineering. Strong working knowledge of PostgreSQL, MySQL, and database management systems is strictly essential. Hands-on experience with ETL Tools such as Informatica, Talend, or Apache Nifi is required. Familiarity with Big Data Technologies including Hadoop and Spark is highly advantageous. Proficiency in Python and SQL scripting for data transformation operations, combined with an analytical mindset and meticulous attention to detail, is mandatory.

A Day in the Life

You will kick off your day by examining overnight ETL execution logs from Informatica server clusters. After identifying a schema mismatch in a staging table, you will write a corrective SQL query to re-align the data types. Later, you will collaborate with the database administration team to test a incremental data load into a PostgreSQL production instance and present your migration status metrics during the afternoon standup.
