What role will you play in the team

As a Junior Hadoop and Database Ingestion Engineer based in Hyderabad, you will serve as a vital contributor to our Data Science, Analytics & Machine Learning department. You will be responsible for orchestrating large-scale data ingestions, structuring enterprise data repositories, and ensuring that our analytical models have continuous access to clean, high-velocity data feeds sourced from diverse operational databases.

What you will do

You will configure and manage Hadoop clusters, write efficient data extraction queries, and build automated data ingestion scripts. Your daily tasks include synchronizing MySQL and PostgreSQL databases with distributed data storage, monitoring data transfer bottlenecks, implementing data cleansing routines, and collaborating with analytics teams to guarantee flawless data availability for advanced statistical modeling and machine learning workloads.

Key responsibility

• Deploy, configure, and administer Hadoop distributed file systems and associated data processing nodes to support high-throughput enterprise data ingestion.
• Develop and execute complex SQL scripts, stored procedures, and data extraction routines across MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB environments.
• Build reliable ETL data pipelines to transport structured and semi-structured datasets from legacy operational systems into centralized analytical repositories.
• Perform routine database performance tuning, index optimization, capacity planning, and data partitioning to enhance query response times.

• Collaborate with data scientists and machine learning engineers to understand feature requirements and supply properly formatted datasets for experimentation.
• Establish automated data validation protocols to detect anomalies, missing values, and schema drifts during daily ingestion cycles.
• Maintain comprehensive technical documentation detailing database schemas, data flow diagrams, and cluster configuration parameters.

Required Qualification and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field with academic focus on data management.
• Solid foundational understanding of Database Management principles, relational structures, and non-relational storage concepts.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, and working knowledge of Big Data Technologies including Hadoop and distributed data processing frameworks.
• Hands-on familiarity with MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and basic ETL automation tools or shell scripting.
• Strong attention to detail, debugging capabilities, and eagerness to learn advanced enterprise data engineering and machine learning deployment workflows.
