Private Equity Deal Evaluation Associate

What role will you play in the team

As a core member of our private equity investment team in Bengaluru, you will be instrumental in identifying, evaluating, and executing growth capital and buyout transactions across high-growth Indian sectors. You will work closely with investment directors to source proprietary deals, conduct deep-dive industry research, and construct meticulous investment memos that guide our investment committee decision-making process.

What you will do

You will immerse yourself in screening inbound investment opportunities, analyzing business unit economics, and executing thorough commercial and financial due diligence. By leveraging platforms like Dealogic, FactSet, and PitchBook, you will map out competitive landscapes, evaluate target company growth vectors, and collaborate with portfolio company management teams to build actionable value-creation roadmaps post-acquisition.

Key responsibility

• Perform extensive screening and initial triage of inbound private equity deal pipelines across venture, growth, and buyout stages.
• Construct granular LBO and return analysis models incorporating various debt financing structures and exit scenarios.
• Prepare exhaustive investment memoranda and presentation decks for presentation to the investment committee.
• Conduct primary and secondary market research using Dealogic, FactSet, and PitchBook to identify emerging industry trends.
• Analyze historical financial statements, working capital cycles, and cash flow conversions of target portfolio candidates.
  
• Assist in negotiating term sheets, shareholder agreements, and share purchase agreements alongside legal counsel.
• Monitor ongoing portfolio company financial performance and prepare quarterly performance attribution reports for limited partners.

Required Qualification and Skills

• Master of Business Administration in Finance or specialized Chartered Accountant designation with a stellar academic track record.
• Deep working knowledge of LBO modeling, M&A structuring, and private equity valuation methodologies.
• Expertise in utilizing specialized financial databases including FactSet, Dealogic, and PitchBook for market intelligence.
• Advanced financial modeling competencies using Excel, combined with a strong grasp of accounting standards (Ind AS / IFRS).
• Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex qualitative and quantitative data into concise, actionable investment insights.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills with the capability to engage professionally with startup founders and corporate executives.
• High ethical standards, professional discretion, and resilience in managing high-pressure transaction timelines.

You spend the late morning interviewing industry experts as part of commercial due diligence for a prospective manufacturing buyout. After lunch, you build out debt amortization tables in your LBO model and spend the evening drafting the executive summary for the upcoming Friday investment committee meeting.
