Private Equity Investment Analyst - Deal Sourcing
Job Description
What role will you play in the team:
As a Private Equity Investment Analyst focusing on Deal Sourcing, you will be instrumental in identifying and evaluating potential investment opportunities. Your role involves researching industries, analyzing financial data, and building relationships with intermediaries to generate deal flow.
What you will do:
You will be responsible for conducting market research, analyzing company financials, and preparing investment memos. You will also participate in due diligence processes, manage the deal pipeline, and support the investment team in making informed decisions.
Key responsibility:
- Identify and evaluate potential investment opportunities in the private equity market.
- Conduct thorough market research and industry analysis to identify attractive sectors and companies.
- Analyze financial statements, build financial models, and perform valuation analyses to assess investment potential.
- Prepare investment memos and presentations to communicate investment recommendations to the investment committee.
- Manage the deal pipeline, track deal progress, and maintain relationships with intermediaries.
- Participate in due diligence processes, including reviewing financial data, legal documents, and operational reports.
- Support the investment team in negotiating deal terms and structuring transactions.
- Monitor portfolio company performance and assist in value creation initiatives.
- Stay up-to-date with market trends, industry developments, and regulatory changes.
- Contribute to the development of investment strategies and sourcing methodologies.
Required Qualification and Skills:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- 2-3 years of experience in private equity, investment banking, or a related field.
- Strong financial modeling and valuation skills, including DCF, LBO, and comparable company analysis.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions and VBA.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with financial databases such as Bloomberg Terminal, FactSet, PitchBook, and Dealogic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of private equity investment processes, deal sourcing, and due diligence.
