Private Equity Investment Associate

What role will you play in the team

As a Private Equity Investment Associate, you will be an integral member of our private equity deal execution and portfolio management team based in Gurugram. You will be responsible for sourcing investment opportunities, conducting deep-dive financial and commercial due diligence, and structuring buyout transactions. Your insights will directly shape our investment thesis and portfolio value creation strategies across high-growth emerging sectors.

What you will do

You will spearhead the screening of investment memos, perform granular LBO modeling, and evaluate target company financials to determine optimal entry and exit valuations. You will interface directly with portfolio company management teams, legal advisors, and industry experts to evaluate operational efficiencies, conduct market sizing studies, and prepare comprehensive investment committee memorandums for board review.

Key responsibility

• Source, screen, and evaluate proprietary private equity investment opportunities and early-stage buyout targets.
• Construct rigorous LBO and M&A financial models to test investment return hurdles under various operating scenarios.
• Perform comprehensive commercial, financial, and operational due diligence on target portfolio companies.
• Draft detailed investment memos and presentation decks for presentation to the Private Equity Investment Committee.
• Monitor portfolio company financial performance, track KPI metrics, and assist in strategic value creation initiatives.
  
• Utilize Eikon, Capital IQ, and PitchBook to conduct industry mapping, competitor benchmarking, and market research.
• Manage transaction closing processes in coordination with external legal counsel, accountants, and financing partners.

Required Qualification and Skills

• Hold a Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or CA/CFA designation from a recognized top-tier institute.
• Possess 2 to 3 years of rigorous work experience in private equity, venture capital, investment banking, or management consulting.
• Deep mastery of financial analysis, LBO modeling, valuation techniques, and transaction structuring principles.
• Hands-on operational experience with capital markets platforms, Eikon, Capital IQ, PitchBook, and Dealogic.
• Advanced command over Microsoft Excel for dynamic financial modeling, sensitivity tables, and VBA automation.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with proven capability to negotiate and present to senior stakeholders.
• Strong commercial judgment, entrepreneurial mindset, and ability to handle multiple complex transactions simultaneously.
