Job Description

What role will you play in the team: As a Private Equity Investment Officer, you will be an integral part of the team responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and executing growth-stage investments in technology and consumer-focused companies. Your analytical skills and deal execution experience will be vital to the team's success.

What you will do: You will conduct market research, perform financial analysis, build financial models, participate in due diligence, and assist in the negotiation and structuring of investment transactions.

Key responsibility:

  • Identify and evaluate potential investment opportunities in growth-stage companies.
  • Conduct thorough market research and competitive analysis to assess the attractiveness of investment opportunities.
  • Build and maintain complex financial models to project financial performance and assess valuation.
  • Participate in due diligence processes, including reviewing financial statements, legal documents, and industry reports.
  • Prepare investment memos and presentations for internal investment committees.
  • Assist in the negotiation and structuring of investment transactions.
  • Monitor portfolio company performance and provide support to management teams.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with industry experts, advisors, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and regulatory changes.
  • Contribute to the development of investment strategies and processes.

Required Qualification and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • 2-3 years of experience in private equity, investment banking, or a related field.
  • Strong financial modeling and valuation skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Familiarity with Bloomberg Terminal, FactSet, Capital IQ, and PitchBook.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of private equity investment process and deal structuring.
  • Experience with LBO modeling and risk management software is a plus.
  • Knowledge of SAS Risk Management.

A Day in the Life: Your day includes analyzing financial statements of a prospective investment, updating an LBO model, and participating in a due diligence call with a target company's management. You will prepare a summary of findings for the investment committee in the afternoon.
