Private Equity Portfolio Risk Analyst

What role will you play in the team

You will serve as an integral member of our private equity risk management unit, safeguarding portfolio investments through sophisticated quantitative risk assessment and market monitoring. Your daily contributions will involve evaluating asset vulnerability, stress-testing leverage structures, and ensuring compliance with stringent regulatory frameworks across diverse portfolio companies within our rapidly expanding fund ecosystem.

What you will do

You will proactively monitor portfolio performance metrics, analyze risk-adjusted returns, and deploy specialized quantitative software to measure credit and market exposures. Additionally, you will draft comprehensive risk mitigation reports for the investment committee, conduct sensitivity analyses on underlying portfolio assets, and recommend strategic adjustments to hedge against macroeconomic volatility and systemic financial downturns.

Key responsibility

• Implement and oversee rigorous risk management frameworks across a diverse portfolio of private equity investments.
• Conduct comprehensive stress testing and scenario analyses to evaluate portfolio resilience against market shocks.
• Utilize advanced risk management software and SAS Risk Management tools to quantify exposure levels.
• Monitor adherence to internal investment mandates, liquidity constraints, and external regulatory compliance standards.
• Collaborate with deal teams during due diligence phases to identify potential legal, financial, and operational risks.
  
• Prepare detailed monthly and quarterly risk dashboards for review by senior partners and the board of directors.
• Evaluate capital markets platforms and pricing feeds to assess mark-to-market valuations of portfolio holdings.

Required Qualification and Skills

• Hold a bachelor's or master's degree in Financial Engineering, Quantitative Finance, Economics, or a related analytical discipline.
• Accumulate 2 to 3 years of specialized experience in private equity risk management, credit analysis, or financial auditing.
• Proficiency in utilizing SAS Risk Management, Risk Management Software, and financial data providers like FactSet and Eikon.
• Deep working knowledge of capital markets platforms, dealogic databases, and quantitative portfolio optimization techniques.
• Exceptional problem-solving capabilities with advanced proficiency in statistical programming and financial modeling in Excel.
• Demonstrated ability to translate complex statistical risk metrics into comprehensible business strategies for non-financial stakeholders.
• High ethical standards, professional discretion, and robust organizational skills suited for high-stakes investment environments.
