What role will you play in the team

You will serve as an integral pillar within our elite venture capital deal sourcing division, driving high-impact market research, target mapping, and early-stage startup evaluation. Your core mandate involves uncovering disruptive technology and enterprise business models across emerging Indian startup ecosystems, utilizing advanced proprietary databases to build comprehensive pipeline reports for general partners and senior investment leads.

What you will do

Your daily routine will center on screening hundreds of inbound and outbound investment opportunities, evaluating pitch decks, and conducting preliminary unit economics checks. You will collaborate directly with venture partners to synthesize market maps, track competitive landscapes, and monitor venture financing trends across various high-growth sectors, ensuring that our investment thesis remains sharp and well-supported by quantitative metrics.

Key responsibility

• Execute exhaustive market intelligence tracking and sector landscaping using PitchBook and Capital IQ to identify high-potential early-stage startup targets.
• Analyze incoming founder pitch decks, assessing total addressable market (TAM) sizing, competitive moats, and early traction metrics.
• Maintain and optimize proprietary deal tracking CRMs, ensuring real-time updates on funding rounds, valuations, and investor syndication data.
• Prepare comprehensive preliminary screening memos highlighting key investment risks, founding team backgrounds, and product differentiation factors.
  
• Coordinate initial introductory calls with startup founders, documenting key operational insights and routing promising opportunities to senior deal leads.
• Assist in synthesizing macro venture capital trend reports, analyzing dry powder metrics, and evaluating India-specific startup funding velocity.

Required Qualification and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline from a tier-1 academic institution.
• Demonstrated proficiency in using PitchBook, Capital IQ, and Dealogic for comprehensive venture capital market mapping and transaction benchmarking.
• Solid foundational understanding of startup valuation methodologies, cap table structures, and early-stage financing instruments (SAFEs, Convertible Notes).
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex startup value propositions concisely.
• Strong command over Microsoft Excel and advanced data visualization tools for building dynamic investment tracking dashboards.
