Job Description
The Operational Support Analyst role is a key part of the Global Environment Management (GEM) team which provides improved environment readiness, monitoring enhancements and 24*5 support for CIB lower environments. In partnership with AD, vendor and operational stakeholders, priority tasks include due diligence /management on the implementation for E2E env build out, along with service management governance and control responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
The Operational Support Analyst will: -
- Partner with EMEA Operations Lead & vendor with Programmes of work and day to day activities which include (but not limited to);
- E2E environment build out & support
- Change Control / Governance
- Operational Excellence KPI Reporting
- Risk Mitigation
- Partner with stakeholders from AD, vendor, PM and GTI to ensure environments have the required level of infrastructure support (Environment Monitoring & health check reporting)
- Partner with Operational Stakeholders to ensure Environment Support requirements are understood, documented, agreed and implemented
- Ensure governance implemented for Change Control, analysis & KPI reporting and followed as BAU
- Partner with EMEA Operations Lead for transition of tactical toolset to SNow strategic toolset for Change, Incident, Problem, Service Request
- Provide Application & LoB level monthly Operational Excellence KPIs, with commentary on root causes / mitigation - presentation at Management level
- Management processes and procedures
- Attendance and contributor to monthly Service Reviews with vendor
- Manage small environment improvement projects & c hair project meetings
- Identify efficiencies & cost savings across the GEM estate
Experience - Required:
- Experience with an IBM zSeries Mainframe environment
- Knowledge of z/OS, JCL, TSO/ISPF
- Proficient usage and knowledge of COBOL/Natural
- Proficient usage and knowledge of DB2/Adabas and VSAM
- Knowledge of CONTROLM/CA7/ZEKE scheduling tools
- Experience working with all types of data files including Generation Data Groups, VSAM, Partitioned, and Physical Sequential files
- Working knowledge of JCL and batch job execution in a mainframe environment including use of Procedures.
- Ability to learn/use File-AID for browsing file data.
- Knowledge/experience with SyncSort.
- Experience with CICS for online application functionality support.
- Experience with MQSeries communications.
- Knowledge of NDM/sFTP transmission protocols.

Very Good:- Data gathering, analysis and troubleshooting skills
- Change Control and Release Management best practices
- MS Office -> SharePoint, Excel Pivot Tables
- Knowledge of QA role, test workflow and the SDLC
Good:- Understanding in Root Cause Analysis of software defects
- Understanding of systems, roles, and dependencies between teams in SDLC
- Knowledge on SNow, Jira, Confluence
- Foundation of financial product and services knowledge
