Job Summary:

To support mining operations by providing effective legal advice and taking necessary steps to ensure compliance with mining, land, environmental and labour laws, managing litigation and safeguarding companys legal interests across 24 projects. (Our clients include PSUs of State and Central Government and reputed national & multinational company). To act as strategic advisor to the Board, CMD/CEO and Senior Leaders.

Key Responsibilities:

• As Legal Head of projects and corporate management would be responsible to lead on legal matters with respect to MMDR Act 1957, Mineral Concession framework, Mineral (Auction) Rules 2015, Coal Mines (Special Provisions) Acts 2015, Mines Act 1952 and Forest, Land & Environment related issues under Environment Protection Act 1986, EIA Notification 2006, Forest Conservation Act 1980, Wildlife Act 1972, Water & air Act, RFCTLARR Act 2013
  
• Draft, review, vet and negotiate for Mine service contracts & conditions, Mining Agreements, Leases, MoUs and Tenders.
• Labour Law leadership under ID Act, CLRA, Factories Act, EPS/ESI Laws and Labour Codes.
• Handle and monitor litigation before Courts, Tribunals and Statutory Authorities and writ proceedings
• Coordination, briefing and supervision of external Counsels and Senior Advocates including case strategy, pleading review and cost control.
• Personal appearance before courts, tribunals and statutory authorities in critical, high stakes and policy sensitive matters.
• Identify legal risks and provide mitigation strategies, Board level governance and compliance under Companies Act 2013.

Qualification & Experience:

• LLB (LLM preferred)
• 10-15 years of relevant experience in mining, infrastructure or mineral based industrial projects as Legal Head
• Preference will be for having at least 5 years of Court experience handling Mining, Land disputes, Tender matters
