Job Description

The Opportunity:
Role: Fractional/ Freelance Consultant - GCC Advisory Services (Remote)
Work Model: Project-based engagement with flexible working hours
- Are you an experienced HR or HR Operations professional with 10 plus years of experience ready to leverage your expertise on your own terms? We're building a network of exceptional independent consultants to support our international clients who are establishing Global Capability Centres (GCCs) in India to set up their entire HR infrastructure.
- This is a deliverable-focused engagement designed for experienced practitioners only who can work autonomously, meet tight deadlines, and produce executive ready outputs without handholding.
What You'll Do:
- Organizational Design & Structure : Define pyramid, titles/ positions, reporting lines, spans and layers, decision rights for Day-1 GCC organization structure and its evolution over Day 90, Day 180, Day 365 etc. ensuring compliance with local regulations, including Permanent Establishment risk
- Employee Value Proposition : Design, finalize and document Day 1 EVP in line with the leading GCC practices
- Compensation & Benefits : Define and finalize compensation philosophy for the GCC. Finalize Day 1 roles for compensation benchmarking; Define and finalize compensation structure and salary bands for all in-scope roles
- Recruitment Strategy & Talent Acquisition : Design, finalize and document talent acquisition/ recruitment policy and procedure, including application tracking mechanism, pre-boarding activities and referral program. Design, finalize and document Background Verification (BGV) requirements.
- Process Design & Documentation : End-to-end HR process maps (Hire-to-Retire lifecycle); Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for HR functions; HR service delivery model designs (shared services, COEs, hybrid models)
- Compliance & Policy Frameworks :

Define HR statutory compliance framework and requirements; Define POSH committee construct, including procedure and statutory reporting requirements; Develop roles and responsibilities, and RACI for meeting all HR compliance requirements; HR policy documents and employee handbooks; Data privacy and governance frameworks (GDPR, local regulations)
- Reporting & Analytics : Design, finalize and document HR reporting and analytics templates for GCC
- HR Technology & Implementation Support : Process workflow & technology alignment frameworks; System configuration documentation
- Client Travel : While this is optional, there could be occasionally travel to client locations across India (Bangalore, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, etc.) for exposure and stakeholder engagement.
- Ideal profile: We're seeking former HR and HR Operations Professional who can hit the ground running.
Experience & Education Required
- 10+ years of progressive HR experience with significant leadership exposure
- Proven track record in hands-on delivery of HR transformation projects, not just oversight
- Prior experience in HR consulting, shared services design, or COE leadership strongly preferred
- Domain Expertise (One or More): GCC/GBS HR setup and scaling, HR process design and optimization, Compliance and policy framework development, HRMS implementation and change management, Compensation design and benchmarking, Organizational design and workforce planning
Technical Proficiency
- Advanced PowerPoint: Ability to create executive level, visually compelling presentations with clear storytelling
- Research Skills: Conducting primary/secondary research, synthesizing information, extracting actionable insights
- Familiarity with HRMS platforms: Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle HCM, DarwinBox, Keka or similar systems

- Final Approval: Payment released upon client acceptance of final deliverable
Payment Terms
- Per deliverable payment negotiated based on scope and complexity
- Payment processed within 15 business days of final deliverable approval
- Milestone based payments available for large, multicomponent projects
- All invoices to be submitted with GST compliance (if applicable)
Timelines
- Clear deadline commitments required upfront.
- Project timelines vary based on deliverable complexity
- Expect tight turnarounds: 1-5 weeks for most deliverables
