Payroll Specialist

Responsibilities

• Analyzing, preparing, and processing semimonthly US payroll for 700+ employees in an accurate and timely manner using WorkDay payroll software
• Reviewing and ensuring submission of approved timesheets for non-exempt employees
• Processing payroll changes including new hires, leaves, salary adjustments, retroactive pay, commission, bonuses, expense reimbursements, benefit deductions, garnishments, and terminations
• Tracking and processing all garnishments and other special payroll deductions
• Processing off-cycle manual pays, including final paychecks
• Running payroll previews and reconciling payroll prior to transmission
• Running various reports using WorkDay Reports
• Researching and resolving discrepancies with employee earnings, deductions, and all other payroll and system related issues
• Preparing Canada payroll including expense reimbursements, commission, and bonuses
• Responding to and/or complete Verifications of Employment
  
• Ensuring payroll is processed in compliance with multi-state wage and hour laws
• Staying informed of current legislation and tax law changes affecting payroll
• Maintaining payroll records and follow established policies and procedures to ensure company compliance
• Assisting with 401(k), workers’ compensation, and other external audits
• Performing special projects or other duties as requested
  

Qualifications

• 3+ year of payroll processing experience for a multi-state employer with multiple offices
• Prefer someone with WorkDay payroll experience
• Strong organization skills, and ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise utmost discretion
• Previous experience with ADP Workforce Now and Time & Attendance a plus
• Proficient in Excel (v-lookups and pivot tables), Word, and G-Suite
