What role will you play in the team? As a Canada Taxation Specialist, you will be instrumental in ensuring our clients comply with Canadian tax laws. Your responsibilities will include preparing tax returns, conducting tax research, and providing support on complex tax issues. You'll be part of a collaborative team focused on delivering high-quality tax services to our clients. Your will be working directly on Canadian Tax Laws.
What you will do You will prepare Canadian federal and provincial tax returns for corporations and partnerships. Research and interpret Canadian tax legislation and regulations. Assist with tax planning and compliance projects. Communicate with clients and tax authorities. Prepare working papers and maintain documentation.
Key responsibility
  • Prepare and review Canadian federal and provincial income tax returns for corporations, partnerships, and trusts.
  • Research and analyze Canadian tax legislation and regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Assist in the preparation of tax provisions for financial reporting purposes.
  • Identify tax planning opportunities and assist in the implementation of tax strategies.
  • Respond to inquiries from tax authorities and assist with tax audits.
  • Prepare and review working papers and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in Canadian tax laws and regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and team members.
  • Assist in the training and development of junior staff.
  • Contribute to the development of tax policies and procedures.
Required Qualification and Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Basic knowledge of Canadian federal and provincial income tax laws.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and tax preparation software.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Commitment to professional development and continuous learning.
  • Experience with tax research databases (e.g., Taxnet Pro) is an asset.

A Day in the Life You will start your day by reviewing assigned Canadian tax returns and gathering the necessary documentation from clients.
