What role will you play in the team?
As a Canadian Tax Reporting Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of our clients' Canadian tax reporting obligations. You will collaborate with a team of experienced professionals to deliver high-quality tax services, helping clients navigate the complexities of the Canadian tax landscape and optimize their tax positions. Your expertise will enhance our firm's reputation for excellence.
What you will do
Your responsibilities will include preparing and reviewing tax returns, conducting tax research, analyzing financial data, and assisting with tax planning projects. You will also support the team in responding to inquiries from tax authorities and ensuring compliance with Canadian tax laws and regulations. Effective communication and collaboration are essential components of this role.
Key responsibility
- Prepare and review Canadian federal and provincial tax returns for various entities.
- Conduct research on complex Canadian tax issues and provide technical guidance.
- Assist with the development of tax planning strategies and recommendations.
- Prepare responses to inquiries from Canadian tax authorities.
- Maintain accurate and organized work papers and documentation.
- Stay up-to-date on changes in Canadian tax law and regulations.
- Assist with the implementation of tax technology solutions to improve efficiency.
- Collaborate with other tax professionals to provide comprehensive tax services.
- Provide excellent client service and build strong client relationships.
- Adhere to firm policies and procedures.
Required Qualification and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field. A Master's degree in Taxation is preferred.
- Minimum 0-1 years of experience in Canadian tax reporting.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian federal and provincial tax laws and regulations.
- Experience with tax preparation software such as TaxCycle or Cantax.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Completion of or progress towards a professional accounting designation (e.g., CPA).
