What role will you play in the team?

As a UK Tax Assistant, you will support the team in preparing and submitting various UK tax returns and computations. You will assist in gathering financial information, performing basic tax calculations, and ensuring compliance with UK tax laws and regulations. Your role will be critical in maintaining accurate and up-to-date tax records.

What you will do

Your tasks will involve collecting financial data, assisting in the preparation of tax returns, and ensuring accuracy in tax calculations. You will also be responsible for communicating with clients to gather necessary information and addressing tax-related queries. This includes staying updated on changes to UK tax legislation and assisting with tax planning and advisory projects.

Key responsibility

  • Assist in the preparation of UK corporation tax returns (CT600) and computations.
  • Gather and analyze financial data to support tax return preparation.
  • Conduct research on UK tax legislation and case law.
  • Assist with the preparation of tax provisions for financial statements.
  • Communicate with clients to gather necessary information and address tax-related queries.
  • Support senior team members with tax planning and advisory projects.
  • Maintain accurate and organized tax records.
  • Assist in the preparation of transfer pricing documentation.
  • Identify potential tax planning opportunities and recommend strategies to clients.
  • Prepare tax-related documentation for clients.

Required Qualification and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of UK tax laws and regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of UK VAT regulations is a plus.
  • Familiarity with UK tax compliance software (e.g., Alphatax).
  • Basic understanding of transfer pricing principles.
