Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have 8-10 years of legal experience, specifically within the fintech or banking sectors. The candidate should possess strong legal and business acumen, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and assess priorities effectively.
Key Responsibilities:

• General Commercial Transactions: Provide day-to-day advice on transaction structuring, contract interpretation and enforcement, legal and regulatory compliance, and corporate policies.
• Contract Management: Perform end-to-end contract preparation and execution processes for assigned transactions, from request generation to contract signature.
• Risk Management: Research and evaluate different risk factors regarding business decisions and operations; collaborate with management to devise efficient defense strategies.
• 
  Frameworks and Processes: Build and deploy frameworks, processes, and playbooks to enable efficient and effective rollout of company products and services across India.
• Data Privacy: Hands-on experience in assessing data privacy regulations, developing data privacy frameworks, and implementation.
• Governance and Compliance: Specify internal governance policies, regularly monitor compliance, and apply effective risk management techniques; offer proactive advice on potential legal issues.
• Stakeholder Management: Deal with complex matters involving multiple stakeholders; provide clarification on legal language or specifications to everyone in the organization.
  

Skills and Knowledge:

• Strong legal and business acumen.
• Up-to-date with the latest legal and statutory developments and laws in the fintech/banking sector.
• Excellent communication skills - written, verbal, and presentation.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to differentiate between conflicting priorities and issues to identify underlying causes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and assess priorities effectively.
  

Qualifications:

• LLB or equivalent degree from a recognized institution.
• 8-10 years of legal experience in the fintech or banking sector.
• Proven experience in general commercial transactions, contract management, and legal compliance.
• Expertise in data privacy regulations and risk management.
