Job Description

As a rapidly growing company, Kryptsec offers a unique opportunity to be part of the founding team and contribute to shaping the future of cybersecurity education.
As a Founding Security Lab Engineer at Kryptsec, you will play a pivotal role in designing and constructing practical, containerized security labs for various attack surfaces such as web, infrastructure, cloud, and AI. Working closely with the CEO and the founding infrastructure engineer, you will create technically rich and impactful content that is accessible to users. This position offers a hands-on approach initially, with a clear path to leadership for the right candidate.
Responsibilities:
- Designing real-world cybersecurity labs using Docker and containerized services
- Developing lab environments, walkthroughs, and scoring logic for a diverse range of security topics
- Crafting clear and concise technical content including prompts, hints, and documentation
- Collaborating with engineers to deploy labs in Kubernetes-based infrastructure
- Participating in roadmap planning and contributing to the definition of future content architecture
- Optionally, recruiting and mentoring future lab contributors and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)
Requirements:
- Profound expertise in at least one security domain (e.g., LLM/AI security, web app security, cloud security, red teaming)
- Hands-on experience with Docker including building, testing, and deploying containers
- Strong technical writing and communication skills
- Enthusiasm for cybersecurity education and practical, scenario-based learning
- Startup-ready mindset characterized by self-direction, adaptability, and comfort with ambiguity
Nice to Have:
- Experience in creating Capture The Flag (CTF) challenges, cyber labs, or training modules
- Background in security consulting or red teaming
- Contributions to the security community through talks, tools, blogs, etc.
