Job Description

Role Summary:

Role: Marketing Head / Category Head - VADP


Experience: 14-15 Years


Location: Chennai

Role Overview:

Lactalis, the largest dairy company globally, operates in over 150 countries. India represents a key market, contributing nearly 23% of global milk production and consumption. With acquisitions including Thirumala, Anik, and Prabhat Dairy, along with global brands like Prsident, Lactalis has a strong presence in the Indian dairy ecosystem.


The Value-Added Dairy Products (VADP) segment is a diverse and high-growth category comprising multiple sub-categories such as Butter, Ghee, Cheese, Flavoured Milk, Yogurt, Frozen Desserts, Milk Powders, Dairy Whitener, and Probiotics.


This role involves leading strategy, brand communication, and innovation across multiple categories and brands, making it a multi-category, multi-brand leadership position.
Key Responsibilities:

- Identify growth opportunities and challenges across categories and develop comprehensive brand strategies to drive both top-line and bottom-line growth


- Lead Innovation and Renovation (I&R) initiatives across VADP categories


- Define brand core/seed through research and ensure consistent brand messaging


- Collaborate with creative, digital, and media agencies to execute integrated marketing campaigns


- Design and implement digital and online content strategies in collaboration with agencies


- Drive consumer-centric marketing initiatives backed by insights and analytics
Skills & Qualifications:

- Strong analytical and research interpretation skills with high attention to detail


- Solid business acumen with P&L understanding

- Ability to translate insights into consumer-driven strategies


- Knowledge of media planning, performance measurement, and marketing channels


- Familiarity with latest marketing technologies and tools


- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills


- Proven experience in team leadership and mentoring
Special Requirements:

- Preferably from Dairy / Food FMCG background


- Must have 3-4 years of prior sales experience


- Experience in managing cross-functional teams and agencies
Education Qualification:

- MBA / Postgraduate Degree in Marketing / Advertising / Business
