Job Summary:u00A0

Were seeking an experienced L3 VMware Platform Operations Engineer to drive our global technical operations of VMware ESX within our Infrastructure Hosting Platform. Youll be at the forefront of developing and supporting the engineering and operations of VMware ESX-based Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) capabilities hosted both on-premises and in Microsoft Azure.u00A0

If you have a strong background in VMware administration, server consolidation, and thrive in large, geographically dispersed enterprise environments, this role is for you. Youll work with our most critical infrastructure, supporting sites in multi-datacenter stretch clusters. Our goal is to enhance infrastructure availability and reliability through repeatable patterns, innovative architectural designs, and improved observability to prevent outages and drive value across the organization.u00A0

In this role, youll provide technical expertise and leadership, guiding operations teams and collaborating with other platform infrastructure SMEs to deliver daily operations effectively.u00A0

Key Responsibilities:u00A0

• Installation and Configuration: Lead the installation and configuration of VMware ESXi hosts and vCenter across vSphere ensuring optimal performance and stability.u00A0

• Upgrade and Maintenance: Perform upgrades of VMware environments using VMware Update Manager (VUM) and Lifecycle Manager, keeping systems up-to-date and secure.u00A0

• Troubleshooting and Repair: Diagnose and resolve complex issues within the VMware infrastructure to minimize downtime and maintain service continuity.u00A0

• Server Clustering: Manage the addition, modification, and deletion of server clusters within vCenters, including HA (High Availability), DRS (Distributed Resource Scheduler) clusters, and Metro Stretch Clusters.u00A0

• Deployment: Oversee the deployment of virtual machines (VMs) and related resources, ensuring alignment with best practices and organizational standards.

• Networking: Deep understanding of networking concepts like VLANs and trunking. Configure and manage VMware networking components, including Distributed Switches (vDS), to ensure efficient and secure network communication.u00A0

• Remote Support: Provide remote support to globally dispersed teams, ensuring consistent and reliable VMware services across all locations.u00A0

• Collaboration: Work closely with other IT teams and vendors to implement and support innovative solutions, fostering a collaborative environment.u00A0

Qualifications:u00A0

Education: Bacheloru2019s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.(or equivalent experience).u00A0

Certifications: VMware certifications (e.g., VCP, VCAP) are highly desirable. Certifications in Linux, Windows, Dell SAN storage, or cloud platforms are a plus.u00A0

Experience: Minimum of 8+ years in VMware administration and operations.u00A0

• VMware ESXi Proficiency: Expert in installation, configuration, verification, andmanagement of VMware ESXi hosts.u00A0

• VMware Tools Expertise: Extensive experience with vCenter, VUM, Lifecycle Manager, and other VMware tools.u00A0

• Clustering Technologies: Strong understanding of HA, DRS clusters, and Metro Stretch Clusters.u202Fu00A0
