Fashion And Textile Designer

Hey Candidate,

We are looking for an experienced and creative Textile Designer to join us at Live Linen.

The role focuses primarily on home furnishing categories, linen bedding, table linen, cushions, and curtains and various products. We will require few designs for linen garments as well. The ideal candidate brings strong aesthetic sense, technical expertise, and deep knowledge of textiles, especially linen.

Candidate who is graduated from NIT will be highly preferred. You have to understand the brand concept and create design accordingly.

Key Responsibilities

1. Textile Design & Development

• Create original textile patterns, prints, motifs, and surface designs aligned with brand aesthetics and seasonal concepts.
• Develop designs specifically for home furnishing categories with an understanding of drape, texture, and usability.

2. Color & Concept Development

• Curate cohesive color palettes and mood boards for collections.

3. Trend Research & Inspiration

• Stay updated on global design, craft, and textile trends.

• Draw inspiration from art, culture, nature, architecture, and global markets to build strong design stories.

4. Collaboration & Execution

• Work closely with the design, production, and merchandising teams to translate concepts into finished products.
• Provide clear design files, tech packs, and specifications for sampling and production.

5. Technical Expertise

• Use Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Procreate, and CAD software to create print repeats, layouts, colorways, and mock-ups.
• Ensure designs are production-ready with accurate measurements and technical details.

6. Sampling & Quality Monitoring

• Guide sample development with artisans, printers, and vendors.
• Review samples and ensure they meet quality, texture, print clarity, and color standards.

Requirements

  Get Hired
  Bachelors degree in Textile Design, Fashion Design, or a related field.
• Candidates from NID / NIFT (if you meant NID; if NIT is correct, keep NIT) will be highly preferred.
• 5-8 years of experience as a Textile Designer (if 7-8 years is strict, keep it).
• Strong portfolio exhibiting pattern development, color mastery, and print design.
• Deep understanding of textile printing techniques, weaving basics, surface ornamentation, and color theory.
• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and relevant textile/CAD tools.
• Experience in home furnishings is a strong advantage.
