Role Overview: The General Manager - Product & Technology will lead the organizations product innovation, design engineering, and technology development initiatives. This role is responsible for driving new product development, design excellence, electronics integration, and IoT-enabled smart solutions to ensure strong product differentiation and future-ready technology platforms. The role will oversee multiple technical teams including New Product Development, Industrial Design, Mechanical Design Engineering, Electronics/PCB Development, and IoT/Smart Systems.
Key Responsibilities:

Product Innovation & Strategy:

- Develop and execute the companys product innovation roadmap aligned with business strategy.

- Identify new product opportunities based on market trends, customer needs, and emerging technologies.

- Drive the development of next-generation automated and smart washroom solutions.

New Product Development (NPD):

- Lead end-to-end product development lifecycle from concept to commercialization.

- Ensure timely product launches with defined quality and cost targets.

- Collaborate with marketing, sales, and manufacturing teams for successful product deployment.
Industrial Design:

- Lead product aesthetics, ergonomics, and user experience design.

- Ensure product designs align with brand identity and customer usability.

- Drive design innovation while maintaining manufacturability.
Design Engineering:

- Oversee mechanical product design and structural development.

- Guide teams working on plastic components, sheet metal structures, and electro-mechanical assemblies.

- Ensure design optimization for cost efficiency, durability, and production feasibility.
Electronics / PCB Development:

- Lead the development of embedded electronics and PCB design for automation products.

- Ensure reliable sensor integration, control systems, and firmware coordination.

- Drive improvements in product performance and energy efficiency.
IoT & Smart Systems:

- Develop IoT-enabled smart product platforms.

- Oversee device connectivity, cloud integration, and mobile app interface development.

- Enable data monitoring, remote diagnostics, and smart automation features.
Cross-functional Leadership:

- Lead and mentor multidisciplinary engineering teams.

- Collaborate with manufacturing, supply chain, marketing, and quality teams.

- Ensure smooth transition from design to production.
Technology & Future Readiness:

- Track emerging technologies in automation, electronics, and IoT.

- Build scalable technology platforms to support future product innovations.

- Strengthen the companys R&D and technology capabilities.

Candidate Profile:

Education:

- Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical / Electronics / Mechatronics Engineering.

- MBA or advanced technical qualification is an advantage.
Experience:

- 12-15+ years of experience in product development or engineering leadership.

- Experience in consumer appliances, automation products, sanitaryware, or electronic hardware products.

- Strong background in product design, electronics integration, and technology development.
