We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Computer Vision Engineer with a strong focus on Edge AI to be a foundational member of our core technical team. You will be instrumental in bringing our robots to life by designing, optimizing, and deploying cutting-edge computer vision models directly onto our robot&aposs embedded NVIDIA GPUs. This is a hands-on role where your expertise will directly impact the robot&aposs ability to perceive, understand, and interact empathetically with users in real-time, within the constraints of limited onboard compute.

• Design, develop, and implement highly optimized computer vision algorithms and deep learning models for on-robot (edge) deployment.
• Focus on core CV tasks such as real-time human detection, tracking, face detection, recognition, human pose estimation, and foundational visual scene understanding in indoor environments.
• Leverage NVIDIA GPUs and CUDA for high-performance, low-latency inference on embedded systems.
• Profile and optimize existing and new CV models (e.g., through quantization, pruning, and TensorRT integration) to meet strict performance, power, and memory constraints.
• Work extensively with Linux-based embedded systems, ensuring robust backend integration and efficient deployment pipelines for CV modules.
• Collaborate closely with the broader robotics team to integrate CV outputs with robot behaviors, state machines, and overall system orchestration.
• Contribute to the selection and evaluation of appropriate hardware components and sensors for optimal CV performance.
• 
  Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from initial research and rapid prototyping to robust deployment and continuous monitoring.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 3-5 years of professional experience in Computer Vision engineering, Machine Learning engineering, or a closely related field.
• Proven hands-on experience implementing and optimizing deep learning models for inference on NVIDIA GPUs using CUDA.
• Strong proficiency in Python for machine learning development (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow).
• Solid understanding of Linux operating systems and experience with embedded system development.
• Experience with backend development principles and building robust, scalable software systems.
• Familiarity with modern build systems and deployment strategies for embedded devices.
• Demonstrated ability to write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.

Bonus Points (Nice-to-Haves):

• Experience with other high-performance programming languages like C++, Rust, or Go.
• Familiarity with Bazel or similar advanced build systems.
• Prior experience with robotics platforms (e.g., ROS) or real-time operating systems.
• Experience with privacy-preserving computer vision techniques (e.g., anonymization, federated learning).
• Knowledge of sensor fusion (e.g., combining vision with other modalities like depth or audio).
