Job Description
- As an Assistant Manager/Deputy Manager in the Engine Engineering Division at the Machine Engineering Department, your primary responsibility will involve new plant set-up, process & layout planning, machine procurement, installation, and commissioning of equipment for machine shops specializing in machining 5C Engine components.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Process Planning: Design processes with in-process checks for machining 5C engine components like Crank, Cam, Cylinder Head, Cylinder Block & Case Transmission for mass production.
- Facility Planning & Set-up: Prepare equipment specifications, layouts, procure machines, and oversee installation & commissioning. This involves Techno-commercial evaluation through the tendering process.
- Capacity Expansion: Identify bottlenecks, eliminate them through Kaizens & cycle time reduction, and introduce new technologies for process improvement.
- Defect Identification: Proactively identify defects/gaps and design foolproofing mechanisms in the machining process.
- Casting and Forging Development: Work on the development of engine components through casting and forging processes.
**Qualifications Required:**
- Educational Qualification: B.E/B.Tech in Mechanical/Industrial/Production.
- Work Experience: 2 to 4 years in equipment/plant set-up related to machine shops for 2-wheeler / 4-wheeler manufacturing.
- Technical/Functional Competencies: Domain knowledge of manufacturing processes, ability to understand technical and commercial requirements, hands-on experience in equipment/plant set-up, design concepts of CNC machines, knowledge of cutting tools, applications, and cutting parameters, familiarity with software like Uni-Graphics, Auto-CAD, Factory-CAD.
- Behavioral Competencies: Objectivity, excellent interpersonal skills, effective communication & presentation skills, achievement orientation, team player, and networking skills.
This role requires strategic thinking, strong execution orientation, and a problem-solving approach to drive the successful establishment and operation of machine shops for 5C Engine components machining.,
